The ancient capital of Hoa Lu (Ninh Binh) is a place where natural wonders and precious historical relics intersect. In the 10th century, Hoa Lu was the first capital of the centralized feudalism of Vietnam, associated with King Dinh Tien Hoang and Le Dai Hanh - national heroes in the cause of national unification and resistance against foreign invaders.

The rugged limestone terrain was used to build the citadel, creating a solid natural wall. The Tran Dynasty later also established the Vu Lam palace here, becoming an important resistance base.
