Tri An Lake, covering an area of approximately 323 square kilometers, was completed in early 1987 and serves as a water reservoir for the Tri An hydroelectric power plant. Located on the Dong Nai River, the lake spans several districts including Vinh Cuu, Dinh Quan, Thong Nhat, and Trang Bom. Each area of Tri An Lake boasts its own unique beauty, offering activities such as cycling, camping, boating, fishing, and capturing sunrise or sunset photos. One must-see spot, offering a surprising glimpse into the scenic beauty and vibrant life of Tri An Lake, is the Ben Nom 2 area during the green algae season. This location is situated on National Highway 20, about 20km from the Dau Giay intersection in Dong Nai province, towards Da Lat .

From June to October each year is the dry season at Tri An Lake, with gradually emerging "submerged landmasses" attracting many photographers to create stunning images as algae flourish during the dry season. A vast layer of green algae, spanning thousands of square meters, forms on the lake's surface. The color of the algae changes depending on the sunlight; especially on intensely sunny days, the algae "bloom," displaying a deep green color and a thickness of 0.5-2 cm.

The boats, moored close together along the brown earthen bank, contrast with the green hues of the algae, creating a stunning picture when viewed from above. Furthermore, one can capture a breathtaking moment with the shimmering morning dew clinging to the newly sprouted green grass on the sandbank.

Besides Ben Nom 2, some peaceful picnic spots considered "paradises" for cooling off in the summer at Tri An Lake that tourists can choose from include Ma Da forest, Tri An waterfall, Nam Bau island, O - Dong Truong island or Xa Cu island.
