President Luong Cuong meets with General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping

According to a special correspondent of the Vietnam News Agency, on the afternoon of October 31 local time, within the framework of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2025 Summit in the Republic of Korea, President Luong Cuong met with General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping.

At the meeting, President Luong Cuong warmly congratulated China on successfully organizing the 4th Central Conference of the 20th tenure, and congratulated China on its achievements under the leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China with Comrade Xi Jinping as its core; respectfully conveyed the warm regards and best wishes of General Secretary To Lam and key Vietnamese leaders to General Secretary and President Xi Jinping and Chinese leaders.

General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping sent his best regards to General Secretary To Lam and key leaders of Vietnam, wishing and believing that Vietnam will successfully organize the 14th National Congress.

The two sides highly appreciated the positive developments in the relations between the two Parties and the two countries in recent times; agreed to continue to increase exchanges and contacts at high and all levels, consolidate political trust, enhance substantive cooperation, promote people-to-people exchanges, and promote the stable, healthy, sustainable and increasingly in-depth development of the Vietnam-China relationship.

President Luong Cuong affirmed that the Vietnamese Party and State always consider developing relations with China an objective requirement, a strategic choice, and a top priority in foreign policy; and suggested that both sides carry out high-level visits well, increase theoretical exchanges between the two Parties, and expand mutually beneficial cooperation in all fields.

Agreeing with the cooperation proposals of President Liang Qiang, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping stressed that China highly values ​​its relations with Vietnam; suggested that the two sides continue to deepen the bilateral relations, promote the effectiveness of the theoretical workshop mechanism; and affirmed its readiness to strengthen cooperation in all fields with Vietnam.

The two sides also discussed maritime issues and international and regional issues of mutual concern, agreeing to continue to control and properly handle disagreements, and jointly maintain peace, stability and development in the region.
