Talking about the relationship with the famous Chinese writer Liu Zhenyun, translator Nguyen Le Chi said: "In 2023, I was studying directing in Beijing so I watched the movie Mobile Phone - a movie adapted from the work of the same name by writer Liu Zhenyun. The movie was so good. So out of curiosity, I went to look for his works and contacted him to meet this famous Chinese writer. At that time, he had many books made into movies and stage plays. Luckily, he did not refuse but accepted immediately and we met for lunch. He came with his daughter and we discussed many things, including my wish to introduce the writer's books to Vietnam."

Having only been in Ho Chi Minh City for 2 days, writer Luu Chan Van said he has known Vietnamese cuisine "six sentences" since he arrived in Germany. He is a regular customer of this Vietnamese restaurant owner here. "Vietnamese people work hard and are very industrious. When I finished a bowl of pho, which was so delicious, they also gave me a plate of fried spring rolls, and right after I finished eating, they gave me a plate of salted meat. Vietnamese food is very delicious. For the past two days in Ho Chi Minh City, I have only eaten pho and fried spring rolls but I still don't get bored," he said, laughing.

Enjoying Vietnamese pho in many places around the world, eating it in Vietnam, according to writer Luu Chan Van, is still the 'most authentic'. "Through eating, I realized that the cuisines of Vietnam and China are very similar. The integration of countries in international exchange has promoted the development of culture, including cuisine," writer Luu Chan Van emphasized.

Writer Luu Chan Van also did not hide his happiness when his work was published in many countries around the world, especially in Vietnam. According to translator Nguyen Le Chi, the book that Chibooks is "conceiving" is his 9th work, preparing to be released soon. "The same story, but translated into the language of each country, readers have different understanding and feelings. Therefore, the emotions between people between the stories are also different and very interesting," writer Luu Chan Van confided.

Writer Liu Zhenyun was born in 1958 in Yanjin, Henan Province. He graduated from the Faculty of Literature - Beijing University and is considered a representative face of "new realism" in Chinese literature. With a humorous yet profound writing style, his outstanding works include One Sentence Against Ten Thousand Sentences, I Am Not Pan Jinlian, Yellow Flowers of Homeland, Mobile Phone, City Tower... He received the Mao Dun Literature Award and the French Knight of the Order of Literature and Art. His writings help readers realize the absurdities of life in laughter, and at the same time feel the warmth of human love through literature.
