Actress Truong Ngoc Anh was temporarily detained for abusing trust to appropriate property.

On October 31, the Investigation Police Agency (Economic Police Department) of Ho Chi Minh City Police announced that it had issued a Decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and execute an Order to temporarily detain Truong Ngoc Anh (artist, actress) to investigate the act of "Abuse of trust to appropriate property" according to the provisions of the Penal Code.

Previously, Dat Rong Real Estate Joint Stock Company (address: 25 Dao Duy Anh, Duc Nhuan Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) filed a complaint against Truong Ngoc Anh, who used to hold the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director of the Company, for appropriating the company's assets.

According to the initial investigation results, Dat Rong Company was established in 2007, with Truong Ngoc Anh as Director and legal representative. During its operation, Anh called on Mr. PGM (Irish nationality) to contribute a total investment capital of 9.1 million USD (more than 149 billion VND) to implement two real estate projects, including the Indochine building project at 112 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, District 3 (old). For this project alone, Mr. M transferred 4.49 million USD (about 72 billion VND).

However, the verification results show that, before signing the investment contract, Truong Ngoc Anh and NMH (born in 1964, residing in Tan Dinh ward) signed a sales contract with 4 households in the project land with only 7,917.3 taels of gold, while the investment contract stipulated the value of 12,917.7 taels of gold. Of which, Anh had only paid 3,000 taels of gold but had recorded 4,458 taels of gold in the company's books, showing signs of inflating the project value to appropriate the difference.

Notably, in December 2007, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee decided to reclaim this land to expand Le Quy Don High School and pay 26.1 billion VND in compensation to the households. Afterwards, the households returned the entire amount to Truong Ngoc Anh and NMH. However, Anh only transferred 3 billion VND to the company, the remaining more than 10 billion VND was used for personal purposes, without reporting or accounting.

In addition, during the course of running the business, Truong Ngoc Anh was determined to have arbitrarily withdrawn money from the company's account, directed the creation of false accounting entries, and falsified financial reports to conceal the act of appropriation.

Currently, Ho Chi Minh City Police are continuing to investigate and expand the case, clarify the responsibilities of related individuals and recover assets for investors and damaged businesses.
