Today, October 31st, marks the first day of the 2025 Green Food Festival at Binh Phu Park (Ho Chi Minh City), where hundreds of attractive vegetarian dishes have surprised diners. The event is free to enter and will run until November 4th.

BTC announced today that two culinary competitions, “Green Master Chef Vietnam 2025” and “Green Future Chef Vietnam 2025,” officially took place at the central stage of the 2025 Vegetarian Food Festival, marking the beginning of Vietnam's largest vegetarian food week, running from October 31st to November 4th, 2025.

From early morning, thousands of visitors flocked to the main stage area to watch the competition between more than 100 student chefs and 100 professional chefs from leading culinary schools, restaurants, hotels, and training centers in Ho Chi Minh City.

The two competitions, “Green Master Chef Vietnam” and “Green Future Chef Vietnam,” carry the message of the 2025 Vegetarian Food Festival: “Chefs are not just cooks delicious food; they are sowers of seeds for a green lifestyle, messengers of mindfulness.” Through these competitions, the organizers hope to honor the profession of vegetarian chefs, ignite a love for Vietnamese cuisine among young people, students, and city residents, and spread the culture of clean eating, green living, and healthy living to every Vietnamese family.

Dieu Phong, a student at Binh Phu High School, who attended the first day of the 2025 Vegetarian Food Festival, said he tried many vegetarian dishes such as spring rolls and grilled meat... Among them, his favorite dish was vegetarian beef wrapped in betel leaves. He is looking forward to more activities at the festival in the coming days.

The festival also featured 150 brightly decorated vegetarian food stalls from all three regions of Vietnam, along with a vegetarian buffet offering 100 dishes such as Hue- style vegetarian vermicelli, lotus seed hot pot, braised mushrooms with pepper, five-color savory pancakes, beauty-enhancing dessert soup, organic fruit juices, and more, for visitors to enjoy.

Unique vegetarian dishes were featured at the festival. Ms. Phuong Lan (Ho Chi Minh City), owner of the Minh Tuyet vegetarian food stall, said that she has to wake up more than two hours early each morning to prepare ingredients and set up her stall in time to serve customers. Among them, her "vegetarian fertilized duck egg" made from pork skin and seaweed aroused curiosity and delight among many people.

In the late afternoon and evening, more and more diners flocked in, creating a lively atmosphere filled with the aroma of freshly prepared vegetarian dishes. Ms. Linh, a resident of Ho Chi Minh City, shared that she was particularly impressed with the braised duck noodle soup, which tasted just like the familiar meat dish, rich and flavorful even though the "duck meat" was made entirely from tofu.

The 2025 Green Food Festival will take place from October 31st to November 4th, 2025 at Binh Phu Park (Ho Chi Minh City). This is considered one of the biggest cultural, tourism , and culinary events of the year, organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Food Association (FBA) in collaboration with the People's Committee of Binh Phu Ward, with the support of many leading businesses in the F&B, banking, green consumption, and media sectors.

BTC stated that throughout the festival there were many special activities, the highlight being the record of 200 vegetarian dishes made from Vietnamese lotus, set by leading artisans and chefs.
