Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Cong Hoang: Accelerate the progress of embankment projects to prevent landslides along the Tra Khuc River.

On the afternoon of December 17th, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Cong Hoang chaired a working session with leaders of relevant departments, agencies, and localities to hear reports and direct the implementation of projects invested by the Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board for Transportation Works, including: the Project for Embankment Construction to Prevent Erosion and Enhance Landscape on the South Bank of the Tra Khuc River and the Project for Investment and Construction of Embankment to Prevent Erosion Combined with Land Creation on the North Bank of the Tra Khuc River, the section passing through Tinh An - Tinh Long and Tinh Long - Tinh Khe communes, Quang Ngai City (formerly).

The project to build an embankment to prevent erosion and beautify the southern bank of the Tra Khuc River commenced in December 2024, with a total investment of 380 billion VND. According to the design, the project involves constructing a new 1.2 km embankment along the southern bank of the Tra Khuc River, renovating the Ba To flower garden, and investing in a riverside park north of Ton Duc Thang - Ba Trieu road. Currently, the entire 1.2 km riverbank protection embankment has been completed; other items such as pedestrian walkways and technical infrastructure are being implemented simultaneously, with the total completion value reaching 76.49% of the contract value.

The investor's representative presented a report at the meeting.

The project to construct an embankment to prevent erosion and create land reserves on the northern bank of the Tra Khuc River, passing through Tinh An and Tinh Long communes, has a total length of 2,440m. This newly constructed embankment includes a retaining wall, a crest with railings, and an access road for operation, with a total investment of 230 billion VND. To date, the project has reached 92% of the contract value and 92% of the planned capital disbursement. Approximately 65m of the embankment remains unfinished due to land acquisition issues. The investor is actively coordinating with relevant agencies and units to resolve these obstacles and expedite the handover of the land to the contractor.

Representatives from various departments, agencies, and localities delivered speeches at the working session.

For the Tinh Long - Tinh Khe embankment project, spanning 2,211 meters and including the embankment and related structures, the total investment is 180 billion VND. To date, 100% of the construction site has been handed over, and the construction volume has reached approximately 98.5% of the contract value.

Based on the investor's report and the opinions of departments, agencies, and localities, concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Cong Hoang requested the investor to closely coordinate with departments, agencies, and localities to focus on resolving difficulties and decisively accelerate the progress of project implementation, striving to complete all works in 2026.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the investor to focus on implementing compensation, land clearance, and resettlement work, urgently accelerate construction progress, and speed up disbursement for completed construction work.
