Officers and soldiers in Truong Sa are improving the quality of their training.
As a unit performing its duties amidst the complex and unpredictable situation in the East Sea and the Spratly Islands, facing increasingly demanding tasks, harsh weather conditions, and challenging family lives for its officers and soldiers, Brigade 146, upholding the traditions of a Heroic Unit of the People's Armed Forces, remains determined, actively promoting emulation, and maintaining a steadfast spirit in the defense of the nation's maritime sovereignty and islands.
The Party Committee and command of Brigade 146 proactively led and directed political education, fostering patriotism, love for the sea and islands, and a deep attachment to Truong Sa, while instilling the motto "the island is our home, the sea is our homeland." Officers and soldiers were trained to possess unwavering political resolve, unwavering faith in victory, and remained steadfast in the face of difficulties, challenges, and sacrifices, deeply imbued with the spirit of "as long as there are people, there are islands, and there is national sovereignty."

In line with the perspective of national defense in the new situation, Brigade 146 focuses on improving overall quality and combat readiness. Training adheres to the motto "basic, practical, and solid," emphasizing practical application and directly targeting the goal of protecting maritime and island sovereignty.
On the islands of the Spratly Archipelago, the troops maintain a strict duty roster. With the spirit of "weather-beaten-weather resistance, unwavering in the face of hardship," officers and soldiers of Brigade 146 regularly hone their combat skills, practice rotating on islands, changing weapons, and assigning personnel; closely integrating training with actual mission execution.
The unit maintains a firm grasp of its targets and partners; proactively identifies and tracks targets at sea and in the air; handles situations promptly and correctly according to the Party and State's guidelines and policies; organizes debriefing after each mission to supplement training materials, improve management, observation, reconnaissance, assessment, and flexible handling of situations, maintaining a peaceful environment and preventing passivity and surprise. All military personnel also strive to compete in self-study and self-improvement, enhancing their coordinated combat skills, especially in harsh weather conditions, at night, and when the enemy uses high-tech weapons.
