In recent days, due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain, many communes downstream of Ke Go Lake such as Cam Due and Cam Binh ( Ha Tinh ) have recorded heavy rainfall, causing the water level of Ngan Mo River to rise. The spillway discharge from Ke Go Lake has caused the water in downstream areas to rise rapidly, causing local flooding on many roads, significantly affecting people's lives.

In Nam Bac Thanh village (Cam Binh commune), many roads were flooded 20-30 cm deep, the water flowed rapidly, making it difficult to travel, even high-chassis vehicles could not move through. People proactively moved their vehicles and raised their property to avoid damage. Some households had to use small boats to go to the main road to buy essential necessities.
In some areas of An Viet village (Cam Binh commune), people have to use small boats to get to the main road. Many households have proactively moved their cars to higher ground, placed refrigerators, electrical appliances, and household items higher to avoid damage. Because it is located downstream of Ke Go lake and close to the banks of Ngan Mo river, people here are always vigilant because they are used to the scene of rising water during the rainy season.

“In the village, some areas have flooded roads and water has entered houses. We have had to move our cars to the main road and put our motorbikes on high ground. Now, to get to the main road, we can only use a boat,” said Tran Dinh Phuc, a resident of An Viet village.
According to Mr. Ha Huy Son - Vice Chairman of Cam Binh Commune People's Committee, due to prolonged heavy rain, water from Ngan Mo River rose rapidly, causing local flooding on some riverside roads. The commune government promptly informed and propagated to the people about the flood situation, instructed to raise assets and vehicles, and at the same time sent forces on duty 24/24 to support.

Cam Binh Commune has also prepared response plans, especially in the event of continued heavy rain or Ke Go Lake increasing its discharge flow, it will immediately evacuate households in areas at risk of deep flooding, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property.
In Cam Due commune, a locality located right at the foot of Ke Go lake, the water level of Ngan Mo river is also rising rapidly. There has not been widespread flooding yet, but some roads in Thong Nhat, My Dong, My Phu villages... have been partially flooded. Many households along the river are worried as the rain has not stopped, water has flooded into their yards, affecting daily life and production.

Mr. Hoang Duy Trung - Secretary of the Cam Due Commune Party Committee said: "From yesterday until now, the local government has mobilized forces to be on duty day and night, going down to the villages to instruct people to raise their belongings and move their livestock to safe places. If the rainfall continues to exceed 200 mm and Ke Go Lake increases its discharge, the commune will immediately deploy a plan to evacuate people in the riverside area, not to be passive when the flood rises rapidly."
The heavy rains of the past few days have not only disrupted traffic, but also made life difficult for people in the downstream areas. Some families have had to temporarily stop production and trading, and children have had to stay home from school because of flooded roads. However, thanks to the proactiveness of the government and the people's awareness of prevention, the damage has been initially limited. In the communes, propaganda and warnings have been regularly deployed through loudspeakers and social networks; militia, police, and youth unions are ready to respond in case of emergency.

Currently, the rain is still complicated, Ke Go lake continues to be regulated to discharge water according to the process to ensure the safety of the project. The authorities of the communes downstream are closely monitoring the weather developments, proactively activating the "four on-site" plan, ready to respond to any arising situations. Meanwhile, people in the downstream area continue to make efforts to adapt, protect their property and daily life in the conditions of prolonged rain and floods.
