In Ham Thang ward - an area heavily affected by this flood, the ward's Trade Union quickly organized relief activities and provided food to people in deeply flooded areas.
Ms. Tran Thi Xuan Tham, Chairwoman of Ham Thang Ward Union, said: By the afternoon of October 31, the Ward Union had received contributions from businesses and individuals totaling 50 million VND along with many necessities. The unit presented 400 gifts, 100 boxes of instant noodles, 200 loaves of bread and 300 meals to people in flooded areas; at the same time, connected with Tien Thanh Ward Union to mobilize businesses to support instant noodles and drinking water worth 5 million VND. The work of receiving and distributing relief goods is still continuing to promptly support people to overcome difficulties.

In Binh Thuan ward, the area with 12 grassroots unions in Phan Thiet Industrial Park was also affected because many roads and workers' residences were deeply flooded and they could not go to work. The Standing Committee of the Ward Union requested grassroots unions to pay attention, encourage, and visit union members and workers who suffered losses; at the same time, coordinate with businesses to create conditions for workers to take time off due to floods but still receive 100% of their salary.
In recent days, union officials in localities have been proactive and urgent in relief work with a high sense of responsibility. The cooperation and sharing of union organizations and philanthropists have contributed to helping people, union members and workers in flooded areas to soon stabilize their lives and restore production after natural disasters.
