On the evening of November 1st, Tran Quang Hung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thach Khe commune, said: The locality has temporarily reinforced the landslide area at the embankment of the Thach Khe iron ore mining and processing project.
At 3 PM on the same day, due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain, the embankment of the Thach Khe iron ore mining and processing project collapsed. The collapsed section was approximately 6 meters long. The incident caused water from the large reservoir within the embankment to overflow, affecting residential areas in Thach Khe commune.
As soon as the incident was discovered, Thach Khe commune mobilized forces to use sandbags, bamboo stakes, and wooden stakes to temporarily reinforce the landslide area and prevent water from flowing out.

According to Mr. Tran Quang Hung, the embankment of the Thach Khe iron ore mining and processing project is made of sandy soil. During the heavy rains of previous years, the embankment had also experienced landslides.
Using sandbags and bamboo stakes for reinforcement is only a temporary solution. Local authorities have assigned personnel to take turns inspecting the embankment's condition to address any further erosion.
On the afternoon of November 1st, a landslide also occurred along the embankment of the Cam Hoa solar power plant, located in Bac Hoa village, Yen Hoa commune, with a length of approximately 20 meters.

The incident caused a strong flow of water from within the embankment, affecting the chicken farms of eight households in Yen Hoa commune. Upon discovering the problem, the Yen Hoa commune authorities mobilized machinery and personnel to find solutions to reinforce the embankment.
According to Phan Quang Cuong, Chairman of the People's Committee of the commune, due to the predominantly sandy soil and the high likelihood that reinforcement in one area will "break" elsewhere given the continued heavy rainfall, the local authorities have not yet implemented any remedial measures.

Local authorities have advised households raising poultry to relocate their flocks to avoid being affected by the water runoff from the Cam Hoa solar power plant.
