On the evening of November 1, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thach Khe commune, Tran Quang Hung, said: The locality has temporarily reinforced the landslide site at the mine embankment of the Thach Khe iron ore mining and processing project.
At 3:00 p.m. the same day, due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain, the mine embankment of the Thach Khe iron ore mining and processing project collapsed. The landslide was about 6 meters long. The incident caused water from the large lake in the embankment to overflow, affecting residential areas of Thach Khe commune.
As soon as the incident was discovered, Thach Khe commune mobilized forces to use sandbags, bamboo stakes, and wooden stakes to temporarily reinforce the landslide site and prevent water from flowing out.

According to Mr. Tran Quang Hung, the mine embankment of the Thach Khe iron ore mining and processing project is made of sandy soil. During the rains of previous years, the embankment also experienced landslides.
Using sandbags and bamboo poles for reinforcement is only a temporary solution. Local authorities are currently assigning forces to take turns checking the current state of the dike to handle any further landslides.
On the afternoon of November 1, at the embankment area of Cam Hoa solar power plant, located in Bac Hoa village, Yen Hoa commune, a landslide also occurred with a length of about 20 meters.

The incident caused water to flow strongly from the embankment, affecting the chicken farm area of 8 households in Yen Hoa commune. Upon discovering the incident, the Yen Hoa commune authorities mobilized machinery and human resources to find a solution to reinforce the embankment.
According to Chairman of the People's Committee of Phan Quang Cuong commune, because the geological foundation is mainly sand and the reinforcement in this place is likely to "break" in another location when the heavy rain situation remains complicated, the locality has not yet implemented remedial measures.

Local authorities have advised households raising chickens to move their flocks to avoid the impact of water flowing from the Cam Hoa solar power plant.
