Speaking at the gift-giving ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung, Deputy Minister of Public Security, said: Since October 26, Hue city has suffered a particularly heavy rainstorm, with historic rainfall, with rainfall at Bach Ma peak reaching nearly 1,800mm on the night of October 27. This is the heaviest rainstorm in Vietnam's meteorological history, causing flood peaks in the local rivers to reach levels similar to those in 1999, even higher in some places, causing severe damage to property and people's lives.

However, thanks to the proactiveness of Party committees and authorities at all levels, along with the response experience of Hue people and the timely intervention of armed forces, the work of preventing and overcoming consequences was deployed synchronously, minimizing damage. The forces quickly evacuated people from dangerous areas, promptly provided relief to isolated areas, demonstrating the spirit of "When people need, when people are in trouble, there is the police".

Deputy Minister of Public Security presented 200 gifts to residents of An Cuu ward

Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung expressed his admiration for the resilience and solidarity of Hue people in the face of natural disasters; at the same time, he hoped that people would continue to uphold their traditions, quickly overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives, and restore production after the flood. He also requested the police, military and local authorities to increase support for people in deeply flooded and long-isolated areas, ensuring the safety of people and property.

On this occasion, people in difficult circumstances of the two wards received gifts including essential necessities such as drinking water, canned food, cakes, dry food... and cash to support severely affected households in the area.
