Handing over repaired and leak-proofed houses to poor households

The first project within the goal of building and repairing 15 charity houses for the 2025-2030 term was inaugurated and handed over to households by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Hoi Dong Ward (HCMC) on the morning of November 4.

The project also aims to practically welcome the success of the 1st Congress of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, term 2025-2030, the 1st Congress of Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio -political organizations of An Hoi Dong ward, term 2025-2030 and the 95th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam National United Front (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2025).

The current state of Mr. Tran Van Em's house before being repaired was not safe.

Mr. Tran Van Em lives alone in a level 4 house, about 30 square meters in area (at address 362/29/17 Thong Nhat Street, Ward 7, An Hoi Dong Ward). Due to his old age and stroke, which makes it difficult for him to move around, he cannot work and has no income.

Representatives of local authorities encouraged Mr. Tran Van Em's family to try to stabilize their lives.

Mr. Tran Van Em's house was built more than 25 years ago and is now degraded and damaged.

After more than 2 weeks of urgent repair and waterproofing, the project (with a total cost of 48 million VND supported by the Ward Fund for the Poor) was completed, meeting the wishes and aspirations of Mr. Tran Van Em for a safe and stable shelter.

The completion and handover of the house not only represents material support, but also demonstrates the spirit of community solidarity, and is a great source of encouragement to help Mr. Tran Van Em's family stabilize their lives.

In the period of 2024 - 2025, the Fund for the Poor of An Hoi Dong Ward has mobilized more than 2.2 billion VND, promptly supporting and taking care of social security for poor households, near-poor households, and households in difficult circumstances; building and repairing 8 Great Solidarity houses with a total cost of more than 360 million VND.
