On the morning of October 22, comrade Pham Van Lap, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Phong city attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of "Great Unity" houses for Mr. Nguyen Huu Lien's household in Hoang Thiet Tam residential group and Mr. Pham Van Hung's household in Tran Thanh Ngo 5 residential group (both in Kien An ward).
Mr. Nguyen Huu Lien (born in 1940) is blind in both eyes, old, weak, lives alone, and has very difficult finances .
Mr. Pham Van Hung (born in 1967) is a martyr worshipper. Mr. Hung and his wife are both in poor health and are directly raising two autistic children. Life is difficult, and their main income depends on the small business of his wife and daughter.
Both households are living in a level 4 house, built many years ago, which is now seriously degraded, leaky, has cracked walls, and is unsafe.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city supported each household with 100 million VND from the “For the Poor” Fund for families to build houses. The remaining funds were mobilized from relatives, clans and the help of people in Hoang Thiet Tam and Tran Thanh Ngo 5 residential groups.
The two new houses, both 30 square meters in area, are expected to be completed in November 2025, on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam National United Front - the traditional day of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2025).
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, comrade Pham Van Lap, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, shared that these are 2 out of a total of 190 houses that the City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee supported for households in difficult circumstances in communes, wards and special zones in the city on this occasion.
Building the "Great Unity" house is a practical action in response to the direction of General Secretary To Lam "when the people need the front, the front is there, when the people are in difficulty, the front is ready to participate". The new house not only has material significance but also shows the affection of the Party Committee, government and people of the city to accompany and share with families in difficulty.

Thereby, helping families have more motivation to overcome difficulties and move forward in life. Strongly promoting the spirit of mutual love in the community with the goal of "leaving no one behind".
Comrade Pham Van Lap requested the Party Committee, government and people of Kien An ward, and residential groups to continue supporting the two households to build works that ensure quality, safety, and completion on schedule, creating solid and sturdy homes to help families stabilize their lives and develop the economy.
