On the morning of October 22nd, Mr. Pham Van Lap, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Phong City, attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of "Great Solidarity" houses for Mr. Nguyen Huu Lien's family in Hoang Thiet Tam residential area and Mr. Pham Van Hung's family in Tran Thanh Ngo 5 residential area (both in Kien An ward).
Mr. Nguyen Huu Lien (born in 1940) is blind in both eyes, elderly, frail, lives alone, and faces severe financial difficulties.
Mr. Pham Van Hung (born in 1967) is a worshipper of fallen soldiers. Both Mr. Hung and his wife are in poor health and are raising two young children with autism. Their lives are difficult, and their income mainly depends on the small business run by his wife and daughter.
Both households are living in single-story houses, built many years ago, which are now severely dilapidated, leaking, with cracked walls, and are unsafe.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city provided each household with 100 million VND from the "For the Poor" Fund to help them build houses. The remaining funds were raised from relatives, family members, and the assistance of residents in Hoang Thiet Tam and Tran Thanh Ngo 5 residential areas.
The two new houses, each with an area of 30m² , are expected to be completed in November 2025, in commemoration of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam National United Front - the traditional day of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2025).
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Comrade Pham Van Lap, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, shared that these are two of the 190 houses that the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city is supporting for disadvantaged households in communes, wards, and special zones in the city on this occasion.
Building "Great Solidarity" houses is a practical way to respond to the directive of General Secretary To Lam : "When the people need help, the Front is there; when the people are in difficulty, the Front is ready to participate." The new houses not only have material significance but also demonstrate the compassion of the Party Committee, government, and people of the city in accompanying and sharing with disadvantaged families.

This helps families gain more motivation to overcome difficulties and improve their lives. It strongly promotes the spirit of mutual support and compassion within the community with the goal of "leaving no one behind".
Comrade Pham Van Lap requested that the Party Committee, government, and people of Kien An ward, as well as the residential groups, continue to support the two households in constructing the buildings, ensuring quality, safety, and timely completion, creating solid and stable homes to help the families stabilize their lives and develop economically.
