Building 'Great Unity' houses for poor households in Cam Giang

Cam Giang Commune (Hai Phong) has 2 households supported to build 'Great Solidarity' houses during the peak month 'For the poor' this year.

On December 5, the Hai Phong City Fatherland Front Committee coordinated with Cam Giang commune to organize the groundbreaking ceremony and handover of two "Great Unity" houses to poor households in the commune.

In An Diem A village, the program started to build a house for the family of Mr. Nguyen Van Hung (born in 1979), a poor household in extremely difficult circumstances. He himself has a serious illness and poor eyesight; his wife is often sick and unable to do heavy work; his only son is slow to develop. The whole family is living in his parents' livestock area and does not have their own house.

The house is expected to be about 50 square meters wide, with a total cost of more than 150 million VND. Of which, the city's "For the Poor" Fund supports 100 million VND, Cam Giang commune supports 5 million VND, the rest is mobilized from relatives, organizations and people of An Diem A village. The project is expected to be completed in December 2025.

On the same morning, in Phuong Hoang village, the City Fatherland Front Committee organized the handover of the "Great Unity" house to the family of Ms. Hoang Thi Nga, a near-poor household. Ms. Nga was born in 1983, is in poor health, and has two children, the eldest of whom has a congenital heart disease. The old house, built before 1990, has seriously deteriorated.

The "Great Unity" house handed over to Ms. Hoang Thi Nga's family in Phuong Hoang village was built at a cost of more than 230 million VND.

The new house has an area of ​​70 square meters , costing more than 230 million VND. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city supported 100 million VND, Cam Giang commune supported 5 million VND, relatives supported 30 million VND, the family contributed 20 million VND and the rest was provided by villagers who helped with labor, the sponsoring unit supported electricity and water. The family borrowed more than 100 million VND to complete the house.

Representatives of the City Fatherland Front Committee, Cam Giang commune government, mass organizations and villages presented financial support, gifts and encouraged households to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.

During the peak month of “For the Poor” this year (October 17 - November 18), the city started building 190 “Great Unity” houses for poor and near-poor households. Each house was supported with 100 million VND from the city’s “For the Poor” Fund.
