Attending the reception, on Lam Dong province side were comrade Ho Van Muoi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and leaders of relevant departments, branches and sectors. The working delegation was led by Mr. Ha Vi, along with his wife and members of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam.

Speaking at the reception, comrade Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam expressed his joy when Lam Dong welcomed Ambassador Ha Vi, his wife and the working delegation to visit and attend the International Tea Festival in 2025.

The Secretary of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee emphasized that Vietnam and China have close neighborly relations, sharing many similarities in history and culture. Over the past 75 years, the traditional friendship between the two countries has been continuously nurtured, becoming an important foundation for the development and protection of each side's homeland.

Lam Dong has an area of over 24,000km² with nearly 3.9 million people of 49 ethnic groups, living in 124 communes, wards and special zones. This diversity creates a rich cultural and social picture, contributing to the local economic development.

The province currently has a unique cultural ecosystem with 7 UNESCO heritage sites and 144 historical and scenic sites. Da Lat was honored as a “Creative City of Music”, becoming a highlight in the cultural and tourism development strategy.

China is one of Lam Dong’s important trade partners. Export turnover to this market accounts for about 2.4% of the province’s total export value, mainly vegetables, tubers and fruits. In the opposite direction, about 34% of Lam Dong’s import value comes from China, including machinery, equipment and raw materials for production.

Tourism continues to be a field with great potential for cooperation. In 2025, Lam Dong is expected to welcome more than 130,000 Chinese visitors, accounting for 11% of the international visitor structure. Although direct flights have not been restored, the number of visitors remains stable through roads and connecting routes from Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.

Chinese Ambassador Ha Vi shared the difficulties and losses that Lam Dong in particular and Vietnam in general have suffered due to recent floods. China is very concerned and the Government has just sent 500,000 USD to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to support overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and floods.

Although he had only visited Lam Dong for a short time, Ambassador Ha Vi was impressed by the dynamic development of Lam Dong. After the administrative reorganization, Lam Dong has many advantages for development.

Ambassador Ha Vi said that there are currently 18 large enterprises implementing projects in the coastal area of Lam Dong. This is a rather modest number given the province’s advantages, especially its strengths in agriculture, tourism, minerals, etc.

Through sharing practical experiences, Ambassador Ha Vi said that Lam Dong's transport infrastructure still has many limitations. This is the "bottleneck", preventing Lam Dong from exploiting its inherent advantages, including attracting Chinese tourists and businesses.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi also informed Ambassador Ha Vi about Lam Dong's strategic breakthrough in transportation. Currently, Lam Dong's transportation network is gradually being synchronized, forming strategic axes, facilitating trade of goods and tourism development.

Lam Dong has many potentials and advantages in the fields of: Minerals, agriculture, tourism. After the province has promoted investment attraction, there are now many enterprises, including Chinese enterprises, coming to discuss investing in the province. If there is attention from the Central Government, specifically the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, investing in the province will be more favorable.

Comrade Ho Van Muoi said that Lam Dong and Yunnan Province (China) have many similarities. In the near future, Lam Dong will consider and have a working trip to Yunnan to visit and learn from experiences. Lam Dong hopes that the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam will connect, helping to share and connect more quickly and firmly.

The leaders of Lam Dong province and Ambassador Ha Vi both expressed their high consensus on the issues raised at the meeting. Both sides believe that the Vietnam-China friendship, as well as cooperation between Lam Dong and Chinese localities and enterprises, will continue to be expanded in a sustainable and effective manner.
