On the afternoon of November 4, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction Le Ngoc Linh informed about the adjustment of the road boundary of Tran Binh Trong Street and updated information related to the 2 urban railway lines passing through the land plot No. 1 Ly Thai To, Vuon Lai Ward. This is part of the plan to renovate this land plot under the direction of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

According to the Department of Construction, the road clearance of Tran Binh Trong Street needs to be adjusted to increase traffic capacity and ensure more convenient traffic organization for the area.
The Department proposed to expand Tran Binh Trong Street to 4 lanes, each lane is 3.5m wide, the total road width is 17m. In which, there will be a 2m wide median strip (or use a hard median strip, barrier) and a 0.25m safety strip for each lane.
For the sidewalk on the residential side, it is recommended that the minimum width be 3m according to QCVN 07-4:2023/BXD to ensure adequate arrangement of technical infrastructure works. The sidewalk on the park side will be designed in accordance with the park design documents. The planning boundary will be expanded from the residential land towards the park, to meet the road clearance requirements.
Regarding metro lines related to this area, according to the plan, there are 2 lines expected to pass through land plot No. 1 Ly Thai To.
Specifically, Metro Line 1 is expected to extend from Ben Thanh to An Ha, following Ly Thai To Street. However, the research and implementation of this line is still in the preparation stage.
For Metro Line 3, which follows Hung Vuong Street, connecting areas from An Ha to Hiep Binh Phuoc . According to the approved basic design, Metro Line 3 will have an underground station at Cong Hoa Roundabout, expected to be about 16.66m deep below ground. The entrances and exits of the underground station will be located at 4 locations: in Au Lac Park, at the intersection of Ly Thai To - Hung Vuong, next to VNPT Vinaphone HCMC building and next to Equatorial Hotel, Cho Quan Ward.
According to the Department of Construction, if Metro Line 1 (extension) continues to maintain the basic design, it is highly likely that the tunnel of this line will go under the tunnel of Metro Line 3. This may adjust the location of underground stations and underground walkways in the area, creating convenient connections for passengers between other metro lines.
The Department of Construction recommends that relevant units coordinate to review and update the underground space planning in this area, especially when metro projects are still in the investment preparation stage. The City Urban Railway Management Board will continue to optimize the network, specify the planning contents, determine the route and related works.
