Training to improve gender equality capacity, for women's advancement by 2025

On November 5, the Department of Home Affairs organized a training conference on “Gender mainstreaming in the implementation of the 2-level government model” for staff working on gender equality and women’s advancement at all levels in the province. Attending the conference were representatives of leaders of a number of departments, branches and sectors of the province.

The team working on gender equality and women's advancement was informed by the lecturer about important contents on the topic "Gender mainstreaming in activities".

At the training session, delegates listened to lecturer Ha Thi Thanh Van, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Women's Academy, deliver a presentation on the topic "Gender mainstreaming in activities", focusing on a number of key contents such as: Reasons for implementing gender mainstreaming in activities; overview of gender mainstreaming; current situation and methods of gender mainstreaming...

Also at the training session, delegates shared knowledge and experience on gender equality in various fields of work.

In recent years, the work of gender equality and the advancement of women in Ninh Binh province has achieved some remarkable results. The female cadres of the province have increasingly affirmed their capacity and qualifications in each field and each working position. The position of women in the fields of employment, education - training, health, culture, science and technology... has many positive changes. The role of women in social life and family has been gradually affirmed, making an important contribution to the implementation of the socio- economic development plan of the province.

However, besides the achieved results, gender equality work in the province still has some limitations such as: Gender prejudice still exists; the staff working on gender equality are mainly part-time and new to the field, so knowledge about gender equality and skills in integrating gender in advising on professional tasks are still limited...

The implementation of the training course to improve capacity on gender equality and women's advancement is very important and timely in order to ensure gender equality in all activities, policies and resources of the locality; help solve gender inequality issues, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the province.
