On November 6th, the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Irrigation Works Management and Exploitation Center (under the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Agriculture and Environment) announced that it had begun releasing water from the Da Den reservoir. This water release will continue for 10 days, from November 6th to 16th.
The flood release is likely to affect production households in the eastern part of Ho Chi Minh City along both banks of the Dinh River from behind Da Den Lake to Ben Suc. Specifically, the affected localities include: Chau Pha commune, Nghia Thanh commune, Tan Thanh ward, Long Huong ward on the right bank of the Dinh River; Tam Long ward, Ba Ria ward on the left bank of the Dinh River.
According to the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Irrigation Works Management and Exploitation Center, incidents at irrigation reservoirs not only cause human and economic losses but also have a significant impact on the environment. Therefore, ensuring the safety of dams and reservoirs during the rainy season is extremely urgent in the localities.
People living and farming along both banks of the river are informed about flood releases, proactively manage their production, and absolutely refrain from fishing, crabbing, or collecting snails in the downstream area where floodwaters are being released.
