Officers and soldiers of Infantry Regiment 6 (Hue City Military Command) help Thuy Thanh 1 Kindergarten (Van The Dap facility) overcome the consequences of floods.

Thuy Thanh 1 Kindergarten (Van The Dap campus) is located next to the Nhu Y River. The school has 7 teachers responsible for looking after, caring for, and teaching 70 children in the area. During the recent flood, the entire school was flooded more than 0.6m, and many school supplies were also soaked in water and needed to be repaired. When the flood receded, teacher Dang Thi Men was the first to walk to school. Witnessing the layer of mud more than 30cm thick covering the school yard, classrooms, etc., Ms. Men burst into tears: "The school is full of weak female teachers, how can we overcome this? When will we be able to welcome students back to school?!"

Directly commanding the troops to carry out the task, Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Thanh Tung, Platoon Leader of Platoon 5, Company 2, Infantry Battalion 1, Infantry Regiment 6, was quite surprised by the thick amount of mud. After discussing and agreeing with the school board and teachers, the unit decided to work through lunch, making an effort to complete the work during the day so that students could return to school as soon as possible.

The spirit of each person working as two was thoroughly instilled in each officer and soldier. By 4 p.m. the same day, all the mud had been cleared, the road running across the school gate was also clear; the classrooms and school yard were clean and spacious. Teaching and learning tools, food, and toys for the children were also cleaned by the soldiers, carefully placed in their original positions... "It is true that wherever there are difficulties, there are soldiers!", teacher Nguyen Thi Kim Tu and the school's teachers said in unison.

The unit has received information, conducted surveys, assessed the workload of each area, and at the same time planned to organize forces and means to support schools to soon complete the work of overcoming the consequences of floods."
