Going back in history to be more proud
The recent exhibition “National Pride” is not only a place where the colors of painting and aesthetic emotions converge, but also a place where the past and the present meet in each stroke. Each work here is not simply a painting, but a piece of memory, a breath of history awakened in the heart of Hanoi today. The colors of patriotism, faith and aspiration for peace have transcended the limits of the exhibition space, spreading to the hearts of viewers, especially the young generation.
Extending the emotional flow of the days of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, the outdoor art exhibition "National Pride" brings together 40 works by 39 young authors with many styles, from realism to stylization, abstraction, or inspired by folk art such as Dong Ho, Hang Trong, royal art... From any perspective, they all share the same message of love for the country and national pride.

In that flow, the work "A80" by author Pham Dinh Tuan depicts the journey of the generation determined to die for the survival of the Fatherland, from bullets, bombs, smoke and fire to the day of victory, when the red flag with a yellow star flutters in the peaceful blue sky.
In another depth, the work “I found you”, depicts the sorrowful face of an old veteran with tears streaming down his cheeks from his eyes. His two arms tightly embrace a strip of yellow light, like a stream containing priceless memories. Because on that yellow stream, small glass bottles containing the silhouettes and relics of his old comrades appear.
The work shows the gratitude and sacredness of the journey to find the remains of martyrs. It is a message of gratitude that never ends. In front of the painting, Hoang Kim Lien (born in 2004, Cat Linh ward) was moved: "The uncles, the brothers, the brothers have fallen in the resistance war, so that we can enjoy peace today."
A beloved Vietnam through every moment
Along with historical slices, the exhibition also brings another emotional flow, where daily life, the story of peace is opened. In the painting “Mother’s Embroidery Frame” by author Hong Hoa, the work originates from personal memories, but it is the simplicity that touches the love of family, the origin in each person’s heart.
The works “Color of Peace”, “Preparation”, “Familiarity”… recreate the scene of Vietnamese market streets on major holidays, bringing viewers back to the streets red with flags and flowers and white doves. These simple details further honor Vietnamese culture, simple but warm, ordinary but rich in identity.
In addition, the work “Walking in Peace” shows viewers the smiles of children in the peaceful sky, affirming the value of independence and freedom. Or the painting “54 Vietnamese ethnic groups”, with a brilliant collective portrait in traditional costumes of the 54 ethnic groups. In the painting, the characters line up evenly, their smiles, eyes, and hand gestures create excitement, uniformity, and equality, like a song of solidarity echoing throughout Vietnam.
Closing the journey is the work “Proud of Vietnam” by Le Thanh Mai, painted on a red background with a yellow star reminiscent of the national flag. The yellow star in the center is composed of images of people from all walks of life, from farmers, workers to intellectuals, youth, and armed forces. The painting affirms that the country today is the crystallization of the hands and minds of the entire nation.
