Expect the province to soon complete infrastructure development goals

Aiming to build Dong Nai province into a “green, prosperous, civilized and modern” locality, developing transport infrastructure is identified as one of the three strategic breakthrough tasks of the Provincial Party Committee in the 2025-2030 term. On that basis, the province is promoting key projects, mobilizing resources and drastically implementing synchronous solutions.

People expect the province's infrastructure development goals to be completed soon, helping Dong Nai grow stronger in the Southeast region.

Many large infrastructure projects are underway.

Many national key projects and major transport projects are being vigorously implemented in Dong Nai province. For example, Long Thanh International Airport (phase 1) is the largest infrastructure project in the country and is being focused on construction in "3 shifts, 4 shifts", striving to be basically completed by the end of 2025 and commercially exploited in early 2026. When put into operation, the airport will become a regional aviation transit hub, opening up strong development opportunities for Dong Nai and the Southern key economic region.

Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway is considered a strategic project connecting Dong Nai with Ho Chi Minh City, creating a direct trade axis between industrial parks with logistics centers, seaports, airports and tourist areas, expected to be completed by the end of 2025. The Elevated Road Project along National Highway 51, from Vung Tau intersection to the intersection of Vo Nguyen Giap Street with Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway, has been approved in principle by the Standing Committee of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee has approved the investor to prepare a proposal. The province's goal is to start construction by the end of 2025.

In addition, investment projects under the form of public-private partnership (PPP) such as Cat Lai bridge, Long Hung bridge and many provincial roads (such as 769, 770B, 773) are mobilizing investment resources with a total capital of tens of thousands of billions of VND...

In particular, the North-South Expressway Project, West section Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh, has just been launched by the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee for a 90-day and night campaign to carry out land acquisition, compensation, support and resettlement. The Provincial People's Committee aims to basically complete compensation, site clearance, and hand over the site to the investor in December 2025 to implement the project, ensuring the disbursement of allocated public investment capital. The expressway has a total length of nearly 129km, of which more than 100km passes through Dong Nai, with a total investment of more than 25.5 trillion VND.

According to Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha, this is a national key project, of strategic significance for socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security not only of Dong Nai province but also of the Southeast and Central Highlands regions. When completed, the route will create a new economic corridor, connecting raw material areas, industrial parks, promoting trade, logistics and improving people's lives.

The above milestones show that the province is entering a more drastic implementation phase, from planning, procedures to mobilizing people and handing over land to achieve the goal of major connectivity, improving the competitiveness of the province and the region in the context of the socio-economic situation that is posing new requirements.

Hope the traffic projects will soon be put into operation.

Strong movements in infrastructure investment make Dong Nai people have high expectations for a new look for their homeland in the near future.

Ms. Le Song Kim, a resident of Long Thanh commune, shared: “Since the airport construction started, the roads around here have been widened and traffic has become more convenient. We really hope that the province will soon complete the connecting roads to make it easier for people to travel and do business. Everyone is waiting for the day to see Long Thanh Airport in operation.”

Mr. Vo Thanh Phuong, resident of Nha Bich commune, said: “My house is located in the clearance area of the North-South Expressway, West section, Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh. When the officials came to persuade us and explained clearly the compensation and support policies, we immediately agreed. I hope the project will be completed soon so that the new road will help people trade and goods circulate easily.”

The Resolution of the 1st Dong Nai Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030, identifies the key task of completing strategic, synchronous and multi-modal infrastructure. The province focuses on solving traffic bottlenecks, expanding development space; coordinating the implementation of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau railway, Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh International Airport and North - South high-speed railway. Dong Nai will also invest in new roads connecting economic zones, urban areas, ports and airports; upgrade the port and waterway systems, develop high-quality logistics, trade and service centers, and form an inter-regional and international smart logistics network.

For the business community, a complete transport infrastructure will be the "golden lever" to attract investment.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hai, owner of a transport business in Nhon Trach commune, said: “If the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway and Cat Lai bridge are completed, our logistics costs will decrease by at least 20-30%. That will help goods circulate quickly, creating a great competitive advantage for the area.”

Developing transport infrastructure is considered a strategic step, a “lever” for Dong Nai to develop rapidly and sustainably. With high political determination, close direction from provincial leaders, and the consensus and support of the people, key infrastructure projects will certainly soon be completed on schedule to serve socio-economic development in the new period.
