Heavy rain causes local flooding

Heavy rain from last night to this morning caused localized flooding in many areas in Quang Ngai province. Authorities set up checkpoints on deeply flooded roads. They assisted people in low-lying areas to clean up their belongings and prepare for weather developments.

The road across the Phien market area, Phuoc Giang commune was flooded deeply, some sections were more than 1 meter deep. The authorities have put up signs, not allowing people to pass through this section of the road. Households in the flooded area also moved their belongings to higher ground. Proactively respond when the water rises quickly, ensuring the safety of life and property. Many areas in Phuoc Giang commune were partially flooded such as: Kim Thanh, An Hoa, An Son, Phuoc Lam and Long Ban Bac. Authorities were present in the area to support and guide people to proactively respond to floods.

Phuoc Giang commune is a low-lying area, often affected by floods. The whole commune has 05 villages with nearly 1,000 households in areas at risk of deep flooding if heavy rain continues. The locality has a plan to be ready to evacuate people when the water level rises.
