On the afternoon of October 31, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Huy Thanh inspected the response to the flood situation in some communes in the southern region. Leaders of relevant departments and branches also went.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Huy Thanh inspected the operation of Ke Go Lake in Cam Due Commune. According to the report, the current water level of the lake is 31.9m, and is being discharged with a flow rate of 500 m3/s.
Next, the delegation inspected the landslide at Cam Nhuong embankment, Thien Cam commune. This is a landslide that occurred since storm No. 10 and has been reinforced by the Party Committee, government and people. However, in recent days, heavy rain and strong waves have caused the landslide to recur, threatening the safety of the embankment.


At the landslide point on Van Tay road (Ky Van commune), this is the road connecting Ky Van and Ky Thuong communes. Due to prolonged heavy rain, many sections have been eroded, broken and broken. According to forecasts, if heavy rain continues in the coming days, the landslide will become more serious, greatly affecting people's travel.


Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Huy Thanh also inspected the flooding situation in Xa Sa village (Ky Van commune) and households at risk of landslides in Bac Tien village, Ky Thuong commune.

At the inspection points, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Huy Thanh emphasized that the weather situation is extremely complicated, requiring localities and units to focus on response work according to the plan and direction of the province, taking the safety of people's lives as the top priority. The units managing dam projects proactively coordinate with meteorological units, closely monitor the weather and hydrological situation to regulate flood discharge appropriately, both ensuring the safety of dams and ensuring water sources for production and daily life. Localities located in the downstream areas of dams, especially Ke Go reservoir, proactively grasp the flood discharge situation to promptly inform people, and at the same time prepare evacuation plans, relocate people to safe places, arrange forces on duty at key points to ensure the safety of people's lives and property.

For landslide sites, in the immediate future, mobilize forces and means to reinforce and set up warning signs to ensure safety for people and vehicles. Continue to review vulnerable sites at risk of flash floods and landslides when there is heavy rain to proactively take timely response measures. As soon as the flood recedes, immediately implement environmental sanitation and disinfection work to prevent epidemics from occurring and ensure clean water for the people.
