Ke Go Reservoir is releasing water to lower the water level ahead of forecasts of heavy rain caused by Typhoon No. 10.

According to Tran Manh Cuong, Director of Nam Ha Tinh Irrigation Company Limited: To lower the water level in the reservoir and proactively respond to weather conditions, in recent days, the unit has been operating to regulate water flow through the Doc Mieu spillway at a rate of 10 /second.

According to meteorological and hydrological agencies, after entering the East Sea on the evening of September 26th, the storm is moving along the coast towards the North Central provinces and the southern part of the Northern Delta. There is a very high risk that the storm will directly affect Ha Tinh province on September 28th-29th. From September 27th to 29th, Ha Tinh is forecast to experience very heavy rain, and major flooding is likely to occur on the rivers.

According to Mr. Tran Manh Cuong, at 7:00 AM on September 26th, the water level of Ke Go Reservoir was 27.48/32.5m, equivalent to a capacity of 213.3/345 million , reaching 61.83% of the design capacity. Anticipating complex weather conditions and storms, from 8:00 AM on September 27th, Nam Ha Tinh Irrigation Company Limited increased the water flow through the Doc Mieu spillway with a flow rate of 20-120 /second.

Ha Tinh province is proactively releasing water from reservoirs in anticipation of heavy rainfall.

Along with Ke Go Lake, to proactively respond to the forecast of heavy rain caused by typhoon No. 10, Nam Ha Tinh Irrigation Company Limited will simultaneously operate the spillway of 4 large reservoirs in the province, including: Song Rac, Kim Son, Tau Voi, and Khe Xai reservoirs.

The spillway discharge began at 8:00 AM on September 27th, with a flow rate of 3 - 80 /second. The end time will depend on weather conditions and the water level in the reservoir.

In parallel with the proactive release of water from large reservoirs, the water levels in 28 smaller reservoirs such as Thuong Tuy, Khe Giao, Da Den, Mac Khe, Van Vo, Moc Huong, Da Cat, Khe Lau, Khe Nay, Dap Mung, etc., which have free overflow, are now approximately at the spillway crest elevation.

In the event of rainfall, the water levels in these reservoirs will rise and overflow freely with an expected flow rate of 1 - 90 m³/ second .

Nam Ha Tinh Irrigation Company Limited requests that downstream localities urgently notify, urge, and guide people to implement measures to ensure the safety of lives and property.
