At this time, when the rain has stopped, Ke Go lake has reduced its overflow discharge and the low tide has helped ease the flooding situation in Cam Due commune - a locality located downstream of Ke Go lake. Up to now, the flood level has receded about 70 - 80cm compared to the previous days.

Although the flood receded quite quickly, as of the morning of November 4, many residential areas downstream of Ke Go Lake were still "surrounded" by floodwaters. According to statistics, nearly 1,200 households in the whole province were still flooded, of which more than 500 households were in Cam Due commune.

According to local people, if the weather does not rain, Ke Go lake will maintain the overflow level of 250 m3/ second and the tide level will be low, and in about 2-3 days, the flood water will basically recede. However, if there is continued heavy rain, the flooding situation may recur.

“We hope it won’t rain anymore so we can clean up our houses. The past few days of “flooding” have been very hard, and eating, living, and resting have been very inconvenient. Luckily, during this time, we have received a lot of support from the authorities, armed forces, and volunteers,” said Mr. Bui Quang Hai (Trung Thanh village, Cam Due commune).

According to the locals, it will take a few days for the floodwaters to recede completely before they can start cleaning up their houses. However, they are also worried as it is forecasted that Ha Tinh will likely be affected by storm No. 13.
