On the afternoon of November 3, Mr. Phan Van Quang - Chairman of the People's Committee of Song Tri Ward said: From this morning until noon, the ward continued to have heavy rain. Due to the impact of heavy rain and the overflow of the reservoir, water flooded into some households of 4 residential groups along the Tri River embankment.

Faced with the complicated developments of the flood situation, local authorities have inspected and mobilized armed forces and mass organizations to support families in arranging furniture and raising it to avoid flooding, while proactively planning evacuation plans, especially for families with young children and the elderly.

According to the Chairman of the People's Committee of Song Tri Ward, in recent days, the ward has had prolonged heavy rains causing flooding in many residential areas, flooding and landslides on some roads, cutting off traffic, greatly affecting people's lives, traffic infrastructure, and irrigation works.

Meanwhile, in Vung Ang ward, prolonged heavy rain, especially from morning to noon today (November 3), caused residential areas in Truong Yen, Truong Phu, Canh Truong residential groups and some roads to Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant such as Mai Lao Bang, to be flooded again.

“If the heavy rain continues, the flooding situation may recur as in previous days and people in flood-prone areas may have to be evacuated again. The locality is currently closely monitoring developments to proactively respond,” informed Nguyen The Anh, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Vung Ang Ward.

In Ky Anh commune, heavy rain also caused flooding and landslides on some roads in the area. Ms. Duong Thi Van Anh - Chairman of the Commune People's Committee informed: At about 3:00 p.m. today (November 3), on Giang - Trung road from Tan Dinh village to Mac Khe lake (old Ky Giang commune), there was a landslide, causing hundreds of cubic meters of soil and rock to fall onto the road with a length of dozens of meters. The landslide made it impossible for vehicles to pass through this road section.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hoach - Secretary of the Party Committee of Ky Van Commune said: On November 3, there was heavy to very heavy rain in the commune. Prolonged heavy rain caused localized flooding on some roads and low-lying areas.

Areas at risk of deep flooding include Sa Xa village area - the section from the Ky Anh town bypass (old) to Sa Xa village, the overflowing stream through Dai Dong village and Thanh Son - My Lien road.

In addition, some locations on the Trung - Dong route were previously eroded but have not been repaired, currently still cutting off traffic; the Tay - Van route has erosion.

Faced with the complicated developments of the floods, local authorities have issued warnings to people; proactively moved assets and livestock to high, safe places; erected warning signs on flooded and landslide-prone roads, prohibiting people and vehicles from passing; inspected and reviewed residential areas at risk of flooding and landslides to prepare evacuation plans when the rainy weather continues.

According to Ha Tinh Newspaper reporters, on November 3, many localities in the province still had prolonged heavy rain, especially in the southern coastal communes and wards of the province. Heavy rain caused some traffic routes to be flooded, water flooded into people's houses.

In particular, in Cam Trung commune, due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain, in the early morning of November 3, a landslide occurred in the Ru Rac area of ​​Nam Thanh village, affecting a number of people's farms.

The landslide area is about 3 hectares wide, with 3 stone processing mines, of which 2 are operating; 5 integrated farms raising goats, deer, and fruit trees. According to initial statistics, the landslide collapsed people's shelters and damaged many properties.

Due to the risk of further landslides, the authorities and authorities of Cam Trung commune have not been able to access the scene to make a detailed assessment.

Ke Go Lake increases spillway discharge to 250 m3 /s

Director of Nam Ha Tinh Irrigation Company, Tran Manh Cuong, said: According to the forecast of the provincial Hydrometeorological Station, from the night of November 3 to the night of November 4, the old Cam Xuyen and old Ky Anh areas will still have heavy to very heavy rain, commonly from 100mm-200mm, in some places over 350mm. To lower the water level of the lake to receive the expected flood affected by the upcoming storm Kalmaggi, the unit will increase the discharge flow of Ke Go lake from 200m3 /s to 250m3 /s from 4:30 p.m. on November 3.

Nam Ha Tinh Irrigation Company Limited has also notified localities to promptly inform people to proactively respond to avoid property loss and ensure human safety.
