Mr. Tran Quoc Hoang - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Son Kim 1 commune informed: "The project to build Son Kim 1 Inter-level Boarding School was implemented in Trung village with an area of nearly 5 hectares, including about 3 hectares of agricultural land. Recently, the commune has organized a meeting with the people to clearly inform about the policy, scale and implementation roadmap of the project. Thanks to good propaganda and mobilization work, the people all agreed and highly agreed on land recovery and compensation plan".

According to Mr. Hoang, the inventory and compensation payments to households whose land was confiscated are currently being carried out in accordance with regulations. The commune government is also completing legal procedures, measuring, marking and leveling the ground to strive to hand over the entire clean land to the investor before November 9, ensuring the project starts on schedule.

Preparations for the groundbreaking ceremony of the school in Huong Khe commune are also being urgently implemented. The Huong Khe Primary and Secondary Boarding School project is being built in Phu Gia village on an area of over 5 hectares, including about 2 hectares of agricultural land with a total investment of about 160 billion VND. This is an urgent project directed by the Government to be implemented in a short time, so the local authorities and people should promote the spirit of initiative, flexibility, and full compliance with regulations.

Phu Gia Primary School (Huong Khe Commune) currently meets the needs of teaching and learning, however, facilities need to be invested synchronously to improve the quality of education .

Mr. Tran Quoc Bao - Chairman of Huong Khe Commune People's Committee informed: "Immediately after receiving the notice of investment policy, the commune proactively coordinated with specialized departments and offices to carry out the work of measuring, inventorying, and making a compensation plan for land acquisition. Thanks to the good work of propaganda and mobilization, the people are very in agreement. The commune is also urgently completing the documents, handing over the site to the construction unit, and at the same time building a plan to ensure security and safety throughout the implementation process, creating favorable conditions for the project to be implemented on schedule".

Currently, Ha Tinh has two inter-level boarding schools in the border areas invested in construction in Son Kim 1 and Huong Khe communes. These projects are not only places for students in the border areas to study and live, but also a support to help them nurture their dreams and aspirations, gradually narrowing the educational gap between the mountainous and lowland areas.

Mr. Le Minh Huan - Principal of Son Kim 1 Primary School shared: “In recent times, with the attention and support of the locality, the school facilities have basically met the needs of teaching and learning. However, the school has been under construction for many years so it has deteriorated, the area of the classrooms has not met the new standards, and the equipment is not uniform. The whole school has 70/542 students whose houses are 7-10 km away from the school, making travel extremely difficult. Therefore, the fact that the locality was chosen to invest in building an inter-level boarding school makes teachers and students very excited…”.

From now on, our children will be able to study in a better environment, this is really what people have been looking forward to for many years, now that dream is about to come true".

According to information from the project, the investment cost for building an inter-level boarding school in Son Kim 1 is estimated at 140 billion VND. With the locality still facing many difficulties, the people's living standards are not high, while the commune's annual budget revenue is only about 1 billion VND, investing in a large-scale, modern project has opened up opportunities for strong changes in local education, lighting up faith and hope for a brighter future for learning in this difficult land.

That joy also spread to teachers and students in the whole Huong Khe commune. For the teaching staff, this is a great encouragement, helping them to have more confidence in the changes in education in the border area. Mr. Le Anh Duong - Principal of Phu Gia Primary School expressed: "We teachers always want students to study in a better environment, with conditions for comprehensive development like in the central areas. Therefore, the early implementation of the project not only brings great joy but also gives us more confidence and determination to continue accompanying the students on the path of learning."
