Ho Chi Minh City People's Council will consider many social policies at the 5th session.

The Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council convened delegates to attend the 5th session (special session) to consider many policies related to important people's livelihood issues.

The 10th term Ho Chi Minh City People's Council will hold its 5th session (special session) on the morning of November 14.

According to the scheduled agenda, the session will consider 13 submissions, draft resolutions on legal norms and 31 individual resolutions.

The groups of issues discussed include: regulations on spending levels for industrial promotion activities; health insurance support policies for the elderly, pupils and students; increasing the level of support for meals and holidays for patients at hospitals under the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health; policies to support people with revolutionary contributions and relatives of martyrs; and measures to implement grassroots democracy and ensure security and order in residential areas...

In particular, the meeting will discuss the roadmap for converting buses to green energy, contributing to the commitment to reduce carbon emissions and towards sustainable city development.

Ho Chi Minh City People's Council will decide on public investment and infrastructure.

In the group of individual resolutions, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council will consider adjusting the 2025 public investment plan, the budget allocation plan, and many important infrastructure projects such as dredging Ong Be canal (in Chanh Hung ward and Binh Hung commune), Ba Lon canal (in Binh Dong ward and Binh Hung commune), upgrading Highway 991 from National Highway 51 to Ring Road 4, expanding Ton That Thuyet Street and the park along Kenh Te (in Xom Chieu ward).

In addition, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council will also discuss and decide on the policy of supporting Tay Ninh province in the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway project, along with the contents of changing the purpose of forest use to serve the Ring Road 4 project and the 500 kV Binh Duong 1 - Tan Dinh line.

The meeting will also consider abolishing, adjusting and reapplying a number of old resolutions of Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, and Ba Ria - Vung Tau (old) in the fields of vocational education, poverty reduction, social protection, emulation - rewards, security and order, to ensure unity and synchronization after administrative boundary arrangement.

In addition, it is expected to review the list of land lots for bidding to select investors for land-using projects in 2025 (phase 2) and approve the list of pilot projects according to Resolution 171/2024/QH15 of the National Assembly, creating a driving force to attract investment, develop urban areas and improve the city's socio-economic infrastructure.
