The model has been implemented on an area of nearly 2 hectares in low-lying, waterlogged areas that often face difficulties in producing two rice crops per year.

To implement the model, the locality released nearly 400 kg of various fish fry such as carp, grass carp, and white catfish, marking the beginning of an aquaculture season focused on utilizing natural advantages and diversifying production species.
In reality, in many localities, the "one rice crop - one fish crop" model has proven to be a highly effective production solution for rice paddies with poor drainage. After harvesting the spring rice crop, farmers utilize the water surface in the fields to raise aquatic animals, thereby increasing land utilization efficiency and boosting income per unit area.

Raising fish in a natural environment helps utilize readily available food sources, reduces investment costs, limits the use of chemicals in production, contributes to improving the agricultural ecosystem, and protects the environment.
Implementing and scaling up this model not only creates additional livelihoods and increases income for farmers, but also serves as a concrete solution to implement the policy of restructuring the agricultural sector towards leveraging the advantages of each production region and adapting to the actual conditions of the locality.
According to the People's Committee of Xuan Lung commune, in the coming time, the Farmers' Association of the commune, in coordination with relevant units, will continue to promote propaganda, provide technical support, and encourage members and the people to expand effective production models, contributing to sustainable agricultural development and improving the lives of people in the area. |
