Advanced technological advancements
Amidst the scorching heat at the peak of late May, we arrived at Phuc Yen General Hospital, where the outpatient clinic was still crowded with people seeking medical examination and treatment. At the outpatient department, patient Nguyen Van An, 65 years old, from Phuc Yen ward, said: "For several years now, whenever anyone in my family gets sick, we come here for treatment because of the modern medical equipment, the trust in the doctors, and the convenient location near our home."

The modern magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine at Phuc Yen General Hospital facilitates the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
The hospital has put into use the OLYMPUS CV-190 endoscopy system, which integrates NBI technology and sharp Full HD images. This device helps detect precancerous lesions and gastrointestinal cancers in their early stages; a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system; a FDR-3500DRLH digital mammography machine; a 2800 hyperbaric oxygen chamber; a lithotripsy machine; a digital panoramic dental X-ray machine, etc.
In 2025, the hospital will invest in purchasing additional modern equipment such as: a 5D ultrasound machine with integrated AI, a non-contact automatic tonometry machine, and a retinal tomography machine. Modern techniques such as shortwave therapy to effectively reduce musculoskeletal pain, continuous blood filtration technology, automatic blood typing machines, and the PCA balloon method for self-managing post-operative pain will also be applied comprehensively...
All departments have a team of qualified and dedicated staff, especially the frontline departments such as emergency, obstetrics, pediatrics, and orthopedics. A clear example is the Infectious Diseases Department's successful treatment of severe Whitmore's disease (an infection caused by "flesh-eating" bacteria) with respiratory failure and septic shock, as well as saving the lives of patients in coma due to acute myocardial infarction.
The patient's support system
Currently, the hospital has 930 staff members, including over 210 doctors, with 60% holding postgraduate degrees, including Master's, Specialist Level I, Specialist Level II, and Doctoral degrees, working in 52 departments and wards. Human resources are a decisive factor, therefore the hospital leadership always prioritizes attracting specialized doctors and providing postgraduate training. In 2025, the hospital attracted 18 doctors and had 18 doctors successfully enroll in postgraduate programs, contributing to improving the quality of medical examination and treatment.

A new, state-of-the-art 5D ultrasound machine has been invested in to serve the diagnostic examination of diseases at Phuc Yen General Hospital.
Beyond focusing on professional expertise, Phuc Yen General Hospital also prioritizes improving service style, aiming for the complete satisfaction of the people. A notable achievement is the implementation of digital transformation and the application of convenient technologies: Online registration for medical examinations and treatments via website or QR code scanning allows people to easily book appointments from home, eliminating long queues and reducing congestion in the reception area.
To meet the demand for high-quality medical care, the hospital has implemented an on-demand clinic system. In addition, to alleviate the burden on family members, the hospital provides a convenient medical fee guarantee service and a system of therapeutic meals delivered directly to inpatients, relieving families of the burden of preparing meals. Furthermore, free charitable meals are provided weekly for the poor.

Phuc Yen General Hospital has successfully implemented the PICC LINE technique in the care and treatment of premature and low-birth-weight infants.
Patients' trust is built not only on treatment protocols but also on a humane approach to treatment. The social work team acts as a bridge, alleviating patients' emotional distress through programs such as free haircuts and support for vulnerable patients.

Phuc Yen General Hospital is applying technology to obtain patient appointment numbers through automated machines.
Give us your trust - receive good health.
Dr. Nguyen Van Hung, Director and Party Secretary of Phuc Yen General Hospital, said: The hospital currently has a planned capacity of 830 beds, with an actual capacity of 1,380 beds across 52 departments and wards, and a team of over 210 specialized doctors (over 60% with postgraduate qualifications). Each year, the hospital performs hundreds of advanced technical services such as total knee replacement surgery; brain surgery; endoscopic gallstone removal and cholecystectomy; spinal reconstruction using biological cement injection... On average, 900-1200 people visit the hospital for examination each day, with approximately 1,000 inpatients.
In 2025, the bed occupancy rate reached 120%; over 60,000 patients received inpatient treatment, equivalent to 148% of the plan. Both inpatient and outpatient treatment increased compared to the same period. The recovery and discharge rates exceeded 95%; the number of patients referred to central hospitals decreased (below 1.8%); and there were no deaths due to medical complications. Patient satisfaction surveys showed 99.6% for inpatients and over 99.8% for outpatients; 99.8% of inpatients indicated they would return for examination and treatment.
In the coming period, the hospital will focus on developing three specialized fields: cardiovascular intervention, emergency resuscitation, and surgery. It will continue to attract highly specialized staff, especially doctors, and send them for advanced training; invest in modern machinery and equipment, and strive to be a trustworthy place for patients.
