Dao women of Duong Hoa commune preserve and promote the value of traditional costumes.Duong Hoa Commune has a population of 17,200 people, distributed in 32 villages, of which ethnic minorities account for 40.8% of the population. With the attention and care of the province through special policies on socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, people have gradually changed their thinking and working methods, increasingly promoting positivity and initiative in implementing the program of building new rural areas, developing the economy, and reducing poverty sustainably.
Secretary of the Party Cell, Head of Quang Son 4 Village, Phun Van Tinh, said: The village has 229 households, 930 people, including 5 ethnic groups living together: Dao Thanh Y, Dao Thanh Phan, San Chi, Nung and Kinh. In recent years, the people have actively promoted their role as the main subject in building the new rural area, such as: Promoting the transformation of crop and livestock structure, introducing new varieties into production to increase productivity and quality. Up to now, the whole village has 9.2 hectares of rice; 3 hectares of corn; 38 buffaloes and cows; 600 birds pig ; 4,820 animals poultry Average income reached 83.5 million VND/person/year, 2 times higher than in 2022. The whole village no longer has poor households according to the province's poverty standards.
During more than 10 years of implementing the new rural construction program, people have voluntarily donated land, labor, and money to the state to concrete 100% of the traffic routes in the village. In 2024, people contributed more than 135 million VND to build the "Lighting up the Countryside Roads" electric lighting system, ensuring convenient travel for people at night, limiting traffic accidents and crimes.
The "Green Sunday" movement associated with the implementation of the "3 clean" criteria in the campaign "Building a family of 5 no, 3 clean"; the model of "Women's group collecting waste"; implementing campaigns to clean the environment, cut grass on the roadside, trim trees along the road, village cultural houses, clean drainage ditches... have also received positive responses from the people, contributing to protecting the environment, building the village greener - cleaner - more beautiful. Thanks to that, for many consecutive years the village has been commended in the movement "Joining hands to build new rural areas".

In Lo Ma Cooc village, the Dao people have also made many positive contributions to the construction of the new rural areas. In particular, through the propaganda and mobilization work of the local Party Committee and government, the people have complied with the Law on Marriage and Family, preventing early marriage and incestuous marriage, contributing to improving the quality of the population, eliminating backward customs, and building progressive and civilized villages...
Ms. Nguyen Thi Loan, Chairwoman of the Commune Fatherland Front Committee, said: Up to now, people in the commune have donated 6,355m2 Land and many constructions and structures on the land, 30,368 trees of various kinds; self-demolition of 806m2 walls and structures to build rural roads; contributed over 3 billion VND and mobilized over 10,970 working days to repair and renew many inter-village and inter-hamlet roads, dredged canals; planted over 24,791 trees of all kinds on model roads and village cultural houses. Currently, 100% of the commune's villages and hamlets have electricity to light up the countryside roads with 1,216 light bulbs installed worth 3 billion VND, the total length of the illuminated roads is 81km. This result has a very positive contribution from ethnic minorities.
In addition to material contributions, ethnic minorities also actively preserve and promote their national cultural identity.
