Vietnam Women's Academy organized a final evaluation workshop for Project 8 in Dong Nai

Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairwoman of the Dong Nai Provincial Women's Union Le Thi Thanh Loan and Deputy Director of the Institute of Women's Studies, Vietnam Women's Academy Nguyen Hoang Anh attended the workshop.

Project 8: Implementing gender equality and solving urgent issues for women and children (referred to as Project 8) is a component project of the National Target Program on socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021-2030. To implement the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021-2030, the Provincial People's Committee has issued an implementation plan and assigned the Provincial Women's Union to be the agency in charge of implementing Project 8 in the locality. On that basis, the Provincial Women's Union has issued a plan to implement this project in phases and annually.

From 2021 to now, the whole province has established and maintained the activities of 46 Community Communication Teams; organized 8 training sessions to improve gender mainstreaming capacity for village and hamlet officials, and prestigious people who are members of the Community Communication Team. The Association also maintains 5 communication models, organizes competitions, and promotes gender equality and eliminates bad customs, building a civilized lifestyle among ethnic minorities.

At the same time, build and replicate models to change thinking and working methods, enhance women's economic power, promote gender equality and solve urgent problems of women and children. In particular, the association at all levels has established 10 Community Trusted Addresses (achieving 183% of the target set for the period 2021-2025); established 18 Leaders of Change Clubs; organized 24 policy dialogues between members, ethnic minority women with Party committees, authorities...

In addition to information on the implementation results of Project 8 in the 2021-2025 period of the Provincial Women's Union, representatives of provincial departments, branches and unions shared more about the process of integrating professional tasks with the tasks of Project 8; difficulties and limitations in the 2021-2025 period; proposed solutions to effectively implement Project 8 in the 2026-2030 period.

On behalf of the survey team, Deputy Director of the Institute of Women's Studies, Vietnam Women's Academy Nguyen Hoang Anh thanked the close coordination of the Provincial Women's Union and representatives of departments, branches and organizations who participated in contributing many opinions related to the implementation of Project 8. Based on the opinions at the workshop, the Vietnam Women's Academy will synthesize and continue to recommend appropriate adjustments to the authorities in the period 2026-2030.
