Dong Nai signed a cooperation agreement to develop tourism with 3 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region.

(DN) - On the morning of November 19, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DOCST) of Dong Nai province held a conference to sign a cooperation agreement on tourism development with the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of 3 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region, including Dong Thap, Vinh Long and Can Tho, for the period 2025-2030.

Attending the conference were Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairwoman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang; Provincial Party Committee member, Deputy Head of Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee Le Thi Thai ; Provincial Party Committee member, Director of Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Thi Ngoc Loan; Tourism Association, travel agencies of Dong Nai province and 3 provinces of the Mekong Delta; Institute for Economic and Tourism Development Research (Ho Chi Minh City).

At the conference, leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, tourism and travel businesses of provinces and cities participated in discussions and proposed solutions for linking, developing, and forming typical tourism products of each locality and regional tourism products between Dong Nai and provinces and cities of the Mekong Delta in the coming time.

Speaking at the conference, the Provincial Party Committee member and Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Nai province accepted the opinions of the delegates attending the conference and pledged to promote the implementation of linkages and tourism development as the contents that the provinces and cities have signed.

Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Nai province, Le Thi Ngoc Loan, said: After the merger, Dong Nai province will be larger in terms of area, population and economic forms. Dong Nai currently has enough potential for economic development in all fields. According to the resolution of the Provincial Party Committee, by 2025, Dong Nai must achieve double-digit economic growth, so the tourism sector must participate in contributing to this common task of the province.

Dong Nai has rich and diverse natural and cultural resources. Among them, the most prominent are the natural forest system with diverse ecosystems; the Dong Nai and Be rivers and large irrigation lakes, mountain and cave systems such as Cat Tien and Bu Gia Map National Parks; Dong Nai Nature and Culture Reserve; Bu Dang and Bu Dop protective forests; Tri An Lake, Thac Mo Hydroelectric Lake, etc. Among them, Tri An Lake is planned as a national tourist destination.

In addition, Dong Nai also has 119 relics ranked at special national, national and provincial levels and nearly 1,500 common relics that have been inventoried. These are the potentials, advantages and opportunities for Dong Nai to accelerate and become one of the localities with strong tourism development in the Southeast region and the whole country.

For the provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta, Dong Nai is identified as the target market and therefore the signing conference with the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Tourism Associations of the provinces has important significance for the next stage of tourism development between Dong Nai and the three localities.

The tourism development cooperation program will create conditions for localities and businesses to exchange, discuss and share experiences in state management, tourism promotion, tour development, routes and destination linkages to contribute to the development of local tourism in the coming years.

Speaking at the conference, Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang emphasized: Linking and cooperating in tourism development between localities has now become an inevitable trend, requiring each locality to highlight its tourism products and destinations, creating more value chains in linkages, tours/tour routes to exploit and meet the maximum needs of tourists, while creating a tourism environment with great attraction for tourists...

In order for the cooperation program for the period 2025-2030 to achieve the highest efficiency, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested that the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Nai province closely coordinate with the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the 3 provinces and cities to quickly concretize the signed content with practical action programs, especially in building inter-regional tourism products, promoting and connecting businesses.

The Provincial Tourism Association and tourism businesses of the four provinces and cities need to proactively increase exchanges, form a chain of typical tourism products and services linking the region, and maximize the strengths of each locality. Departments, branches, sectors and localities in the province need to continue to accompany and support the tourism industry in planning, investing in infrastructure, improving the tourism environment and digital transformation.
