The People's Council of Vinh Long province, term X, 2021-2026, held its 3rd thematic session. At the meeting, Mr. Tran Tri Quang - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Vinh Long province.

On the morning of November 18, the People's Council of Vinh Long province, term X, 2021-2026, held its 3rd thematic session. Here, Mr. Tran Tri Quang - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Vinh Long province.

The Provincial People's Council dismissed Mr. Lu Quang Ngoi from the position of Chairman of the Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term to take on a new job assignment according to the decision of the Party Central Committee. Mr. Lu Quang Ngoi was transferred and appointed to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee.

The People's Council of Vinh Long province introduced and elected Mr. Tran Tri Quang, Deputy Secretary of Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term, to hold the position of Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee for the 2021 - 2026 term with a vote ratio of 127/128, reaching 99.21% of the delegates present at the meeting.

Speaking in his new position, the new Chairman of the People's Committee of Vinh Long province pledged to build an honest, creative, decisive and people-serving government.

"This is a key task. We will focus on stabilizing and improving the operational efficiency of the administrative apparatus after the merger; promoting administrative procedure reform, taking the satisfaction of people and businesses as a measure.

At the same time, we must strengthen discipline, improve the responsibility of leaders, and end the situation of avoiding and shirking responsibility," said Mr. Quang.

Previously, on the afternoon of November 17, Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee held a conference to announce the decision of the Secretariat on the transfer and appointment of Mr. Tran Tri Quang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province, to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee and hold the position of Deputy Secretary of Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee.

Mr. Tran Tri Quang, 48 years old, from Dong Thap province. Qualifications: senior political theory; master's degree in traffic construction, master's degree in economic management.

Mr. Tran Tri Quang has held many positions at the Department of Transport of Dong Thap province; Office of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province; Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Sa Dec city; Deputy Director and then Director of the Department of Transport.

From December 2020 to August 2022: Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee; Deputy of the 14th National Assembly; Member of the Economic Committee of the National Assembly; Deputy of the 9th Provincial People's Council, term 2016-2021.

From August 2022 to October 2023: Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of Cao Lanh City Party Committee.

From November 2023 to February 2025: Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province.

From February 24, 2025: Appointed to hold the position of Acting Secretary of the Party Committee of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee.

February 28, 2025: The Prime Minister decided to assign the position of Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee.

March 27, 2025: The Central Party Secretariat approved the position of Deputy Secretary of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee.

March 28, 2025: Elected Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee.

From July 1, 2025 to present, after merging the two provinces of Dong Thap and Tien Giang (old), he held the position of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of the new Dong Thap province.
