"Super data center" project will be deployed in Ho Chi Minh City

A "super data center" is expected to be built in Ho Chi Minh City with the participation of domestic and foreign investors.

According to information from the Ministry of Science and Technology , Ho Chi Minh City is promoting the implementation of the "Hyperscale Data Center" project, with an expected investment scale of up to 2 billion USD.

This project has the participation of a consortium of major investors, including: G42, Microsoft,FPT , VinaCapital, Viet Thai Group.

The project's goal is to build an "AI Factory" to provide cloud computing infrastructure and comprehensive AI solutions, serving not only the Vietnamese market but also the Asian region and the world.

Currently, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has proposed that the Prime Minister consider and allow the application of a special mechanism to remove legal obstacles and facilitate implementation.

Recently, domestic and foreign enterprises have continuously announced investments in building data centers for AI. In particular, Viettel Group has opened a modern IDC in Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park (April 2024) with a special design ready to meet AI infrastructure needs.

FPT Corporation has just put into operation IDC at Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park, acting as a key infrastructure serving AI platforms in August 2025.

After putting IDC Hoa Lac into operation at the end of 2023, VNPT Group signed a cooperation agreement with two Korean partners, LG CNS and Korea Investment Real Asset Management (KIRA), in August 2025 to prepare for the construction of a Hyperscale AI data center in Vietnam.

In addition, IPTP Networks - a global telecommunications and infrastructure group has launched the AI ​​Data Center (AIDC DeCenter) project with a total investment of 200 million USD at Da Nang High-Tech Park, at the end of August 2025. A notable point is that on August 18, the Ministry of Public Security inaugurated the National Data Center No. 1. This is a data center assigned by the Government to the Ministry of Public Security to build, manage, exploit and operate the integration, synchronization, storage, sharing, analysis, exploitation and coordination of data of State agencies according to the provisions of law to form a human data warehouse and a data warehouse synthesized from national databases.
