Vice Chairman of Mui Ne Ward People's Committee Tran Hai Anh chaired the dialogue session, with the participation of 19 households with complaints.
The project to upgrade and repair Nguyen Dinh Chieu and Huynh Thuc Khang streets is 4,895m long, with a road width of 9m (including an average road width of 1.5m on each side). The sidewalk on each side is 4m wide, and the roadbed is 17m wide. The total investment capital of the project is 309 billion VND.
The project has a total land acquisition area of 85,985.4m2 , with 399 land acquisition notices including: 383 households, individuals and 14 groups. To date, the project has completed 309/483 records. The cumulative disbursement of site clearance compensation of the project to date is 129.9/156 billion VND, reaching 80.98%. The project started construction on December 23, 2024, the completion date according to the contract is December 18, 2025.

Recently, the authorities have received a petition from Ms. Le Thi Hong and 18 other households in Mui Ne ward regarding the land recovery of the Project .
Regarding this content, on November 24, 2023, the People's Committee of Phan Thiet City (old) issued an official dispatch responding to the petition of Ms. Le Thi Hong and the households. On May 24, 2025, the People's Committee of Ham Tien Ward (old) organized a dialogue with households in Ward 4 who had a collective petition related to land recovery to implement the project...

At the dialogue, most households proposed that the land should be cleared on both sides of the road, not on one side close to the sea as designed in the project.
Through discussion, the leader of Mui Ne Ward People's Committee explained that in the process of planning Mui Ne Ward's zoning, for traffic planning, the consulting unit for detailed planning surveyed the current terrain (one side is a very high sand hill, the other side is adjacent to the sea), applying the urban road design standards TCVN 13592:2022.
Therefore, the option chosen on the sea side will have little impact on the lives and activities of households living on both sides of the road. Because households on the hill side build houses close to the wall. The land behind the house is a very high sand hill. If the hill side is taken, all households must be relocated, resettlement arrangements must be made and the sand wall must be rebuilt, which costs a lot of money and has a high risk of landslides. Meanwhile, the sea side is an empty land.
In the land reclamation notices issued by the People's Committee of Phan Thiet City (old) there is no mention of road expansion in both directions. Therefore, the request for road expansion by the households is not in accordance with the planning and design documents approved by the Provincial People's Committee.
Mui Ne Ward People's Committee requested the people to agree with the compensation and site clearance according to the province's policy so that the project can be implemented on schedule, contributing to attracting more and more tourists to Mui Ne National Tourist Area.
