Da Nang: The structure of the People's Committee headquarters of Hung Son commune is skewed, at risk of collapse.

On the evening of October 31, the leader of the People's Committee of Hung Son commune (Da Nang city) said that the commune People's Committee headquarters had many large cracks, broken walls, and the structure was skewed, at risk of collapse.

The recent floods and rains have also caused landslides and cut off many main roads leading to the commune center and residential areas. Travel has been almost paralyzed.

Many electric poles fell down, causing power outages in the entire commune, and the water supply system was severely damaged. Currently, the network and phone signal are either non-existent or very weak in some places, causing great difficulties in communication and command and control.

The commune People's Committee headquarters is seriously eroded. The walls are cracked and the structure is skewed. Some offices are flooded with soil, posing a high risk of safety.

Faced with the dangerous situation, the commune's functional forces have warned people not to go near the commune People's Committee headquarters and areas showing signs of landslides and subsidence; at the same time, they are advised to limit movement as much as possible, and absolutely not to pass through deeply flooded areas or areas at risk of landslides.

Rocks and soil flooded into the headquarters

Currently, the local authorities and forces are urgently fixing the problem, clearing rocks and soil, and gradually reopening traffic routes.

Previously, Mr. Pham Duc An, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, signed Decision No. 2243/QD-UBND declaring a natural disaster emergency in the residential area of ​​Arooi village (Hung Son commune).

This area has serious landslides, with the risk of spreading, directly threatening 2 households, affecting more than 13 surrounding households, 1 community center and the national defense road.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City requested to immediately deploy emergency measures to prevent further landslides, protect people's lives and property and essential infrastructure works.

The People's Committee of Hung Son commune was assigned to proactively mobilize forces and means to evacuate people from dangerous areas, arrange temporary safe shelters, put up warning signs, cordon off the area and stand guard. At the same time, urgently organize landslide remediation in accordance with regulations.
