
The performance is part of the series of activities "Ho Chi Minh City Literature and Arts Days", an event to honor People's Artist, playwright Vien Chau (Bay Ba).
The program is performed by Ho Chi Minh City Arts Center - Tran Huu Trang Opera House, under the direction of Director - People's Artist Huu Quoc and director Duong Thao.
Attending the program were comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; along with comrades of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; representatives of departments, branches and sectors; artists and especially nearly 1,000 audiences who love the art of reformed opera.
Participating in the performance were veteran artists including: People's Artists Le Thuy, Minh Vuong, Thoai Mieu, Trong Huu; Meritorious Artists Kim Tu Long, Phuong Hang, Van Khanh, Le Tu... and young artists of Tran Huu Trang Opera House.
In the stage space filled with warm yellow light, when the sound of the zither played, the sound of the drum echoed, each beat of the vọng cổ verse seemed to touch the memory. Many audiences were moved when listening to immortal songs such as: Tình anh bán chỉ (The Mat Seller's Love), Lá Trầu Xanh (Green Betel Leaves), Võ Đông Sơ - Bạch Thu Hà, Dạm Tan Bến Ngự (The Last Night at the Royal Wharf), Người Mẹ Miền Nam (Who Are You), Giây Mẹ Miền Nam (The Southern Mother), Giây Một Tẫn (The Moment of Gratitude )...


Speaking at the program, People's Artist, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy said that Composer - People's Artist Vien Chau is a big name in Vietnamese reformed theater, with a treasure trove of invaluable works, contributing significantly to preserving and spreading traditional cultural values.

Closing with the performance "Gratitude Song", all artists sang together in a solemn and warm atmosphere.
