On the evening of October 21, at Along Thai Restaurant - Ho Chi Minh City, Meritorious Artist Kim Tu Long and Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Dung (owner of Dung Seafood brand) organized a special program "One Heart" to raise funds to support artist Buu Khanh, who is seriously ill and being treated in Hue .

The program received the support of many artists, audiences and philanthropists, raising 30 million VND for artist Buu Khanh. This is a gift of deep spiritual encouragement, demonstrating the spirit of "the rich help the poor" which is a fine tradition of cai luong artists.
On stage on the evening of October 21, artists: People's Artist Minh Vuong, Meritorious Artist Kim Tu Long, Meritorious Artist Trinh Trinh, Meritorious Artist Tu Suong, Meritorious Artist Vo Minh Lam, Meritorious Artist Ngoc Doi, MC Tuan Anh, singer Ngoc That, artist Bich Hanh... performed with all their heart traditional songs, musical songs and cai luong excerpts.
In particular, the appearance of artist Kieu Le Tam - who just returned from the US - moved the audience when after finishing her song, artist Kieu Le Tam donated money to help her sick colleague.

Buu Khanh - an artist born in the cradle of traditional theater
Artist Buu Khanh is one of the faces who have been associated with the art of reformed classical opera for a long time, born into a prestigious artistic family. He is the younger brother of the late Meritorious Artist Buu Truyen (husband of female artist Thanh The), other siblings including My Phung and Buu An are also singers.
His father was the zither musician Tam Chi, his mother was the opera artist Tam Ut - a family where the breath of the stage was ingrained in their blood since childhood.

From the age of 8, Buu Khanh was sent by his parents to study with teacher Minh To, becoming one of the first children of the Minh To Children's Troupe. By the age of 15, his brother had led him to perform second roles at major troupes such as Nam Thanh - Thu Ba, Muoi Vang, then moved to Hoa Xuan troupe, and later had a long-term association with Thanh Binh - Kim Mai troupe.
After the country was reunified, he returned to work at the Huynh Long Traditional Opera Troupe, continuing to contribute as a key actor. With a strong voice, steady demeanor and polished performance style, he was loved by the audience through many heroic roles - roles in which each movement of stroking the pheasant feathers on the crown radiated the spirit, bravery and soul of a hero.

For more than half a century on stage, artist Buu Khanh is known as a talented traditional opera actor and a person who always preserves the tradition of Minh To - Huynh Long opera. He once shared: "Each role is a different life for me. After the role is over, I feel relieved because I have lived fully with the character and with the audience."

Many generations of young artists studying at Huynh Long still remember him as a strict but gentle teacher, always carefully teaching every movement, look, and beat.

At that time, he choked up and said that the small amount of 5 million VND helped him "pay rent and buy medicine" - a testament to the simple, resilient life of the veteran artist in difficult times.
