The program received support from numerous artists, audiences, and philanthropists, raising 30 million VND for artist Buu Khanh. This is a deeply encouraging gift, demonstrating the spirit of "mutual support" which is a fine tradition of the Cai Luong (Vietnamese traditional opera) community.
On the stage on the evening of October 21st, artists such as People's Artist Minh Vương, Meritorious Artist Kim Tử Long, Meritorious Artist Trinh Trinh, Meritorious Artist Tú Sương, Meritorious Artist Võ Minh Lâm, Meritorious Artist Ngọc Đợi, MC Tuấn Anh, singer Ngọc Thật, artist Bích Hạnh… wholeheartedly performed traditional songs, musical pieces, and excerpts from cải lương (Vietnamese traditional opera).

Buu Khanh - an artist born in the cradle of traditional Vietnamese opera.
Artist Buu Khanh is one of the long-standing figures associated with traditional Vietnamese opera (cai luong), born into a prestigious artistic family. He is the younger brother of the late Meritorious Artist Buu Truyen (husband of actress Thanh The), and his other siblings, My Phung and Buu An, also followed in his footsteps as singers.
His father was the zither musician Tam Chi, and his mother was the traditional opera artist Tam Ut – a family where the spirit of the stage was ingrained in their blood from a young age.

From the age of 8, Buu Khanh was sent by his parents to study with teacher Minh To, becoming one of the first young actors in the Minh To Children's Troupe. By the age of 15, he was being introduced by his older brother to perform supporting roles in major troupes such as Nam Thanh - Thu Ba, Muoi Vang, then joined the Hoa Xuan troupe, and later had a long association with the Thanh Binh - Kim Mai troupe.
After the reunification of the country, he joined the Huynh Long Traditional Opera Troupe, continuing his dedication as a leading actor. With his powerful voice, steady demeanor, and refined performance style, he was beloved by audiences for his many heroic general roles – roles where every movement of stroking the pheasant feathers on his hat exuded the spirit, courage, and soul of a hero.
Buu Khanh - A lifetime of keeping the flame alive for the profession.
Having spent over half a century on stage, artist Buu Khanh is known as a talented classical opera actor and a keeper of the traditions of the Minh To - Huynh Long opera style. He once shared: "Each role is a different life for me. After the role is over, I feel relieved, because I have fully lived with the character and with the audience."

Meritorious Artist Trinh Trinh and Tú Sương perform a duet of an excerpt from "Lương Sơn Bá, Chúc Anh Đài".
Many generations of young artists who studied at Huynh Long still remember him as a strict but kind teacher, always meticulously instructing them on every movement, expression, and rhythm.
During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, the "Mai Vàng Humanitarian Program" of the Người Lao Động newspaper visited and supported artist Bửu Khánh. At that time, he choked up as he said that the small amount of 5 million VND helped him "pay rent and buy medicine" – a testament to the simple, resilient life of the veteran artist amidst difficult times.

Kim Tu Long - The spirit of an artist, a lamp that never goes out.
The program on the evening of October 21st was a beautiful gesture, continuing the tradition of camaraderie among Cai Luong (Vietnamese traditional opera) artists. Meritorious Artist Kim Tu Long emotionally shared: "For many years, we artists have always considered each other as one big family. Whenever someone faces hardship, everyone comes together, singing and sharing, as a way to extend the breath of the stage and human kindness."
The event demonstrates the enduring human values within the Vietnamese artistic community, where kind-hearted individuals like Ms. Ngoc Dung, close friends, and art-loving audiences silently join hands to preserve the warmth of a "theatrical home."
