The Public Transport Management Center (under the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction) announced that from December 19, 2025, the non-subsidized bus route No. 173 connecting Con Dao Market – Con Dao Airport – Dam Trau Beach – Co Ong Beach will officially begin operation. This is the first bus route covering the entire Co Ong road axis, facilitating travel for residents and tourists between the island center and the airport area.

Bus route 173 (Con Dao Center - Co Ong)
Route 173 covers a distance of 17.1 km, with a travel time of approximately 30 minutes per trip, operating continuously from 5:00 AM to 7:00 PM daily. The vehicles used are 30-seat Kim Long buses, equipped with air conditioning and identifiable by their blue and yellow colors.
The route is designed to pass through a series of tourist attractions, residential areas, and administrative offices. Specifically, the bus from Con Dao Market travels along Pham Van Dong – Vo Thi Sau – Nguyen Hue – Ton Duc Thang – Nguyen Van Cu – Nguyen Chi Thanh roads, connecting to Co Ong road, reaching the Dam Trau Beach area before arriving at Con Dao Airport and vice versa, ensuring seamless connectivity.
Vehicles will stop and park at locations agreed upon by the Department of Construction in document 17107/SXD-QLVT, including more than 30 familiar landmarks such as Con Dao Market, Con Dao Post Office , Con Dao Court, Passenger Port, Saigon Con Dao Resort, The Secret, Phu Tuong Camp, Hang Keo Cemetery, Lime Kiln Office, Phan Chu Trinh Junction, Dat Doc, Six Senses, Mui Chan Chim, Mui Tau Be, Yen Spa, Ba Phi Yen Temple, Mieu Cau Temple, Dam Trau Beach, Cultural Residential Area No. 1, and the final point at Con Dao Airport.
The opening of route 173 is expected to increase access to public transport on the island, reduce pressure from private vehicles, and help tourists easily travel to the beaches and popular attractions of Con Dao.
