After a period of intensive construction, three bridges named "Viet-Australian Bridges 52, 53, and 54," built on Canal 300, Canal 1000, and connecting to Canal 31 in Hamlet 11, have been completed and officially put into use. This is an important project, contributing to the completion of the rural transportation system, creating favorable conditions for travel and goods transportation, and promoting socio -economic development of the locality.
Local leaders and sponsors performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony to inaugurate the bridge.
According to the design, each bridge has a deck width of 2 meters and is constructed of reinforced concrete. The lengths of the three bridges are 15 meters, 18 meters, and 18 meters respectively. Each bridge cost over 60 million VND, with a total cost of over 185 million VND. The entire funding was raised by Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Tuyet through the Vietnam Foundation (Australia) and the family of Mr. Nguyen Van Hao. This is also the 749th, 750th, and 751st bridge construction project that Ms. Tuyet has spearheaded in rural areas of Ca Mau province.
Locals and representatives participated in the bridge opening ceremony, officially putting the project into use.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Pham Van Hien, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Khanh Lam commune, said: Khanh Lam commune has many hamlets located deep within the melaleuca forest, with limited transportation conditions and some roads lacking bridges. The support from benefactors in building three new bridges not only contributes to improving infrastructure but also opens up opportunities for socio-economic development in the locality. He hoped that the Vietnam Buddhist Charity and Social Welfare Committee of Ca Mau province would continue to cooperate with the locality in the future.
On this occasion, the sponsor presented 20 gifts to disadvantaged students in the commune, each worth over 300,000 VND.
