From around 5 p.m., more than 1,400 audiences of all ages were present at the Binh Duong Convention and Exhibition Center Hall to wait to enjoy the opera.

The play The Sound of the Drums of Me Linh takes the audience back in time to relive a heroic period of the nation's history. It is the story of Trung Trac and her sister Trung Nhi determined to launch an uprising to "pay their debt to the country and avenge their family". The Trung sisters set up an altar on the Hat river mouth to give the order to revolt. The sound of the bronze drum played at the sacred moment of the Trung sisters is considered a sacred call, making the audience feel proud of the spirit of Au Lac.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Dung (60 years old, resident of Phu Loi ward, Ho Chi Minh City) shared: “I really love watching Cai Luong. I have also watched the excerpt of Me Linh Drum many times on TV, but this is the first time I have seen the play live on a big stage, and seen the artists in real life. It is so good and touching! The artists have completed their roles excellently, bringing many emotions to the audience.”

Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai (40 years old, living in Binh Duong ward, Ho Chi Minh City) shared: "I was very moved when I watched it. The play was like an epic about patriotism and national pride. I took my children to see it so they could understand more about the heroic history of the nation."

The work "Tieng Trong Me Linh" has been re-performed with many different crews and versions, but each time it is performed, domestic and foreign audiences give the play warm praise.
