Many problems have been solved
The project of connecting road from An Mo bridge to the memorial site of General Secretary Le Duan (Project) was approved by the People's Committee of Quang Tri province (old) in Decision No. 2498, dated September 13, 2017 and adjusted in Decision No. 1710, dated June 30, 2022. The project includes a main route of 2.08km long (excluding the new An Mo bridge), branch route 1 of 0.7km long, branch route 2 of 2.99km long. The total investment is 79,495 billion VND, including 66.6 billion VND of support capital from the central budget, the rest is local counterpart capital.
The project has disbursed over 72.1 billion VND, reaching 89.8% of the total investment capital. However, due to problems with site clearance, at the last 500m of the eastern section of An Mo bridge, the section passing through Ai Tu commune and related intersections, the construction has been stalled for quite a long time.

More than 4 months ago, the site clearance work of the road was basically completed and handed over to the construction unit by the competent authority. After the problem was resolved, the Quang Tri Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board directed the contractors to focus on speeding up the progress. Initially, the project was implemented by a consortium of Thanh An Joint Stock Company and Hoang Nguyen Construction Company Limited. However, due to financial difficulties and fluctuations in material prices, Hoang Nguyen Company withdrew from the assigned work. From July 3, 2025, Thanh An Joint Stock Company restarted construction of the final stage with a commitment to complete before November 15, 2025.
Deputy Director of Thanh An Joint Stock Company Tran Duc Hoanh said that up to now, the unit has completed about 79% of the project volume according to the contract. The main reason for the delay is the recent prolonged heavy rains that have interrupted the construction. Mr. Hoanh pledged that in the coming time, the unit will mobilize maximum human resources and equipment to implement the construction, striving to complete the project as soon as the weather is favorable.
There is still a lot of construction work to do.
According to Mr. Vo Phong Luan, Deputy Director of the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, the road connecting An Mo bridge plays an important role in connecting traffic between communes in the region, including Trieu Phong commune with the General Secretary Le Duan Memorial Site, contributing to the development of tourism, socio- economy and preservation of historical and cultural values of the locality.
Mr. Luan also said that many months ago, the competent authority had handed over the site to the construction unit, and the funding source had not been interrupted, so the construction conditions were favorable. The management board requested the contractor to concentrate human resources and means to speed up the progress, ensuring the quality and safety of the project.
According to the plan, the project must be completed before November 15, 2025. However, with the remaining construction volume reaching up to 21%, along with unfavorable weather conditions in late October 2025, achieving the committed progress is difficult. However, the construction unit affirmed that it will make maximum efforts to complete the project as soon as possible, not to prolong it to 2026.
When completed, the route will contribute to improving traffic and landscape of the area, while creating favorable conditions for people and tourists to visit the Memorial Site of General Secretary Le Duan, a typical "red address" of Quang Tri in particular and the whole country in general.
