On October 30 and 31, Hoa Binh General Hospital coordinated with RAD-AID International and Siemens Vietnam to organize training and transfer of "Application of PET/CT & Nuclear Medicine in cancer diagnosis and treatment from theory to practice".
Trainees who are doctors, engineers, and imaging technicians of Hoa Binh General Hospital and medical facilities in the western region of Hai Phong were taught and instructed by Dr. Wei Chen, a medical expert from Rad-Aid International (USA), on how to read PET/CT images; specialized techniques to diagnose and evaluate the condition of complex tumors in the head, face, neck, chest, and abdomen.
The program focuses on evaluating the role of PET/CT in the field of diagnosis and treatment of cancer diseases such as: Lymphoma, neuroendocrine cancer and other malignant tumors... At the same time, you will practice taking images and reading results directly on the modern PET/CT system invested in at Hoa Binh General Hospital.
Through the training and transfer, students are updated with in-depth knowledge of PET/CT technology and nuclear medicine; understand the application of PET/CT in diagnosis, disease staging, and monitoring of cancer treatment results; practice reading PET/CT results under the guidance of lecturers. In particular, students are able to directly discuss practical issues with international experts with extensive experience in PET/CT imaging diagnosis.

PET/CT is an advanced medical technique that provides functional and structural imaging information, helping to detect early, determine the stage and evaluate the effectiveness of optimal cancer treatment.
Hoa Binh General Hospital is one of 7 hospitals nationwide and the first private hospital in Hai Phong city to invest in a PET/CT system to serve early diagnosis and treatment of tumors from the end of May 2025.
