Since the beginning of the year, Thai Nguyen Customs has processed nearly 270,000 customs declarations with a total import-export turnover of over 40 billion USD, budget revenue reaching over 2,400 billion VND, equal to nearly 90% of the target assigned by the Ministry of Finance. Not only completing the budget collection task well, the unit has also promoted administrative procedure reform, applied technology and artificial intelligence (AI) in management and supported businesses. These efforts have contributed to promoting economic growth, making an important contribution to the GRDP target of Thai Nguyen province in 2025 to achieve an increase of 8.5% or more.

Accompany and create conditions for business development

Currently, in the management area of ​​Thai Nguyen Customs, there are nearly 400 enterprises regularly participating in import and export activities and carrying out customs procedures at the unit's professional departments.

Main export items include: Mobile phones, tablets, smart wearable devices, plastic floor tiles, helmets, garment products, hand tools, medical instruments, industrial products from minerals... Imported goods include machinery, equipment, electronic components for production, raw materials for export processing and items serving the supply chain.

Recently, Thai Nguyen Customs has focused on promoting administrative procedure reform, enhancing the application of information technology, accompanying and creating the most favorable conditions for businesses.

Many support solutions have been deployed, such as introducing artificial intelligence application software in import and export activities, providing free consulting and guidance services on customs procedures, contributing to reducing time and costs for businesses. At the same time, the unit maintains a regular dialogue mechanism to listen, remove difficulties and promptly receive feedback and recommendations from businesses to improve service processes.

Recently, at the first Customs - Enterprise Conference with the participation of nearly 100 enterprises, Thai Nguyen Customs disseminated new legal documents related to customs activities, including the Law on Value Added Tax and tax reduction policy in the last 6 months of 2025 and the whole year of 2026. Along with that, the unit introduced software using artificial intelligence to support enterprises in the import and export process, helping to capture information quickly, accurately and comply with legal regulations.

Mr. Dang Ngoc Thai, CEO of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence, Vietnam Institute of Artificial Intelligence Joint Stock Company, shared: At the first Customs - Enterprise Conference, we introduced innovative and practical AI application solutions, contributing to promoting national digital transformation, turning procedural and data challenges into opportunities to improve competitiveness for the import-export business community.

In the context of deep integration, the requirements for transparency, efficiency and compliance with legal policies are increasingly high, the coordination between customs agencies, enterprises and technology units becomes the "key" to forming a smart trade ecosystem, bringing practical values ​​in terms of economic efficiency and management capacity.

Promote digital transformation, improve operational efficiency

In order to achieve the goal of digital transformation across the sector, Thai Nguyen Customs has been making efforts to synchronously deploy solutions to promote administrative procedure reform in all operational stages. Propaganda and dissemination of new policies and guidance on implementing customs laws have been enhanced, helping businesses grasp regulations and ensure quick and convenient customs clearance.

The unit focuses on applying modern machinery and equipment, promoting the use of information technology in professional work to gradually modernize customs activities.

Mr. Pham Manh Vuong, Import-Export Manager of Samju Vina Co., Ltd. (Diem Thuy Industrial Park), said: Thai Nguyen Customs regularly supports, guides and creates favorable conditions for businesses in carrying out customs procedures, helping import-export activities to be stable and smooth.

Implementing the Program to support and encourage enterprises to voluntarily comply with customs laws, participating enterprises are provided with free guidance on risk management, compliance with regulations and import-export procedures. Along with that, the unit does a good job of tax refunds, does not allow outstanding debts to arise; strengthens post-clearance inspections, controls against smuggling and trade fraud, and ensures a transparent and healthy business environment.

Along with that, the unit actively promotes so that businesses can proactively access and effectively exploit new technology.

In 2025, Thai Nguyen Customs aims to coordinate with departments, branches and sectors in the province to strive to achieve the target of GRDP growth rate of 8.5% or more, with about 10.3% in the last 6 months of the year. To complete this goal, the unit continues to promote administrative procedure reform; effectively apply the VNACC/VCIS electronic system, deploy the Ecus System version 6 in operations, ensuring fast and safe customs clearance...

According to the plan, in the last two months of 2025, Thai Nguyen Customs strives to collect VND 2,900 billion in budget revenue (the target assigned by the Ministry of Finance is VND 2,500 billion).

With synchronous solutions, a high sense of responsibility and determination, the unit strives to excellently complete the task of collecting the state budget, effectively managing import and export activities and continuing to accompany the business community. This is also the basis for Thai Nguyen Customs to build the image of a modern, professional and friendly customs unit, contributing to promoting the province's sustainable economic growth in the new period.
