Ms. Luong Thi Hoa, Secretary of the Party Committee of Luu Ve commune, excitedly said that the movement of people donating land to invest in, renovate, upgrade, and improve infrastructure, focusing on roads in rural areas, has aroused the spirit of solidarity, promoted the strength of consensus between the Party's will and the people's hearts, vividly demonstrating the motto "People know - People discuss - People do - People enjoy".

In the entire Luu Ve commune, 963 households voluntarily donated more than 20,800m2 ^of land, worth an estimated VND4 billion, to build roads and improve infrastructure. Mass organizations and people also contributed more than 6,500 working days to expand, upgrade, and improve roads, embank ponds, plant green fences, and create a bright, green, clean, and beautiful environmental landscape.

Thanks to that spirit of unity, Luu Ve commune has completed the expansion of 36 rural, inter-village and inter-commune roads; concretized, planted flowers and installed lighting systems, contributing to the comprehensive change of the new rural appearance. The total investment capital for infrastructure reached more than 827.7 billion VND, of which the State budget accounted for 60%, the rest was mobilized from socialization and people's contributions.

Ms. Luong Thi Hoa shared: “The campaign for people to donate land to expand traffic routes in Luu Ve commune has aroused the spirit of solidarity, will and trust among the people. Not only expanding traffic routes, the program also broadens people's hearts, strengthens the close relationship between the Party and the people, creating a solid foundation for Luu Ve to continue to rise on the journey of building a modern new countryside, towards a civilized urban area”.

Meanwhile, Mr. Le Minh Nghia, Party Secretary and Chairman of the People's Council of Yen Dinh commune, said that Yen Dinh is a leading locality in the new rural construction movement of the North Central region and Thanh Hoa province. Up to now, the appearance of Yen Dinh commune has changed completely; the economy has grown strongly, the economic structure has shifted positively, production capacity and product value scale are increasing; infrastructure has been invested, urban areas have developed; culture and society have many progressive changes; the material and spiritual life of the people has been constantly improved.

Always in the top group of the country

In his speech at the 20th Congress of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, on October 15, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh assessed that, looking back at the term 2020 - 2025, Thanh Hoa has achieved very important and quite comprehensive results in most areas, notably in "6 points", in which the implementation of social security policies and new rural construction of the province is always in the leading group in the country. The poverty rate has decreased by an average of 1.56% annually (by 2025 it will be 0.52%). 14,780 temporary and dilapidated houses have been eliminated. 99.8% of families with meritorious services have a standard of living equal to or higher than the average of the local people. The lives of people, especially ethnic minorities, mountainous areas, remote and isolated areas have been gradually improved.

New rural areas in Thanh Hoa are well planned.

Before ending the operation of district-level administrative units and rearranging communes and wards according to the 2-level local government model, Thanh Hoa province had 15 district-level units and 374 communes meeting new rural standards (83.3%); of which, 4 districts and 125 communes met advanced new rural standards (33.4%), and 33 communes met model new rural standards (8.8%).

From 2021 to present, Thanh Hoa province has invested in building new, upgrading and renovating over 3,598km of rural roads, 1,042km of canals and drainage ditches, 339 irrigation works, 3,495 classrooms, 1,682km of power lines, 418 transformer stations, 85 commune cultural and sports centers, 1,052 village cultural houses, 92 rural markets, 105 commune health stations, 46 commune offices, 97 domestic water supply works, 65 centralized waste disposal works; newly built and renovated over 60,000 residential houses.

The countryside in Thanh Hoa is changing day by day.

According to the Office of Coordination of the New Rural Development Program of Thanh Hoa province, after implementing the two-level local government, Thanh Hoa was reorganized from 547 communes and wards down to 166 units.

Mr. Duong Van Giang, Deputy Head of the Office of the Coordination of the New Rural Development Program of Thanh Hoa Province, said that immediately after the two-level local government came into operation, the Office urgently advised the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Agriculture and Environment to urge and consolidate the program steering committee from the provincial to communal levels. Based on the advice, the Provincial People's Committee issued an official dispatch directing "Continue to promote the implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Development and Sustainable Poverty Reduction" to direct relevant units and new communes to immediately deploy urgent solutions. Up to now, all communes have consolidated the program steering committee and assigned specific tasks to members.

Residential areas in mountainous areas are built methodically and spaciously.

Mr. Duong Van Giang shared that Thanh Hoa is the first province in the country to develop a set of criteria for new rural areas at the village level. This set of criteria is highly appreciated by the Central Government and deployed nationwide. This is also the premise and foundation for Thanh Hoa to deploy and implement the new rural construction program in the new situation, new period. Hopefully, Thanh Hoa will reap many achievements in the new rural construction movement in the period of 2025 - 2030.
