EVNCPC activates response to storm No. 13: Tightening safety and discipline in all situations

At the meeting, EVNCPC General Director Ngo Tan Cu emphasized that many areas in the Central region are being flooded again. The power sector's workforce has spent many days working hard during the floods at the end of October, but the weather continues to worsen.

“The entire system must absolutely not be subjective. Maintaining safety, discipline and order is the strength to “go into battle”, Mr. Cu requested.

According to EVNCPC, as of 7:00 a.m. on November 3, EVNCPC recorded 707 incidents, of which 605 were restored; 87,439 customers lost power, mainly concentrated in Da Nang and Hue.

In Da Nang alone, heavy rains have deeply flooded many areas, forcing a temporary power outage to ensure safety, affecting more than 61,000 customers. Nearly 750 officers, workers and support forces from other units are focusing on fixing the problem, ready to restore power as soon as the water recedes.

EVNCPC General Director requested units to absolutely ensure safety for people and construction forces, not to follow progress but ignore technical procedures, especially in conditions of rapid landslides and floods.

Power companies in the Central Highlands and Khanh Hoa regions are required to proactively adopt the “4 on-site” plan, ready to support when requested; dam operators must strictly comply with safety procedures.

“We have overcome storm number 12 very well, but we absolutely must not be subjective with storm number 13. This phase is not just about overcoming, but also about fighting,” Mr. Cu emphasized.
