The life of ethnic minorities in My Duc commune has changed thanks to an investment of more than 280 billion VND.

My Duc commune was established on the basis of merging the natural area and population of 5 communes and towns of the old My Duc district, including: An Phu, Hop Thanh, Dai Hung, Phu Luu Te and Dai Nghia. The Muong ethnic community and other ethnic minorities account for about 12% of the total population of the commune. The commune currently has 57 religious establishments and 8 Catholic establishments with two main religions: Buddhism and Catholicism.

During the first 9 months of 2025, especially from July 1, 2025 when the two-level local government model began to be implemented, the commune has closely followed, thoroughly grasped and seriously implemented the policies of the Central Government and Hanoi on the fields of ethnicity, belief and religion.

The commune also directed the drastic and effective implementation of the contents of Plan No. 253/KH-UBND of the Hanoi People's Committee on the National Target Program on socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the 2021-2030 period.

Accordingly, in the period of 2021-2025, My Duc commune (formerly An Phu commune) will be invested in 14 projects with a total budget of more than 282 billion VND. To date, the local government has disbursed more than 237 billion VND, reaching about 84% of the total capital according to the assigned plan.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of My Duc Commune People's Committee Pham Trong Cua affirmed that thanks to the attention of Hanoi city, the ethnic minority area of My Duc commune has had positive changes, the life of ethnic minority people is increasingly approaching the rural standard of living.

However, with the characteristics of a large area and scattered population, the People's Committee of My Duc commune proposed that the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions report and propose that the City People's Committee continue to have specific support mechanisms and policies for the locality to complete infrastructure institutions, promote socio-economic development associated with preserving ethnic culture.

Receiving comments, Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Nguyen Sy Truong highly appreciated the achievements of My Duc commune in ethnic, belief and religious work, especially in the new context when the two-level local government model came into operation; especially acknowledging the completion and handover of works and projects under the National Target Program that have brought positive impacts to the lives of ethnic minorities.

Mr. Nguyen Sy Truong suggested that the People's Committee of My Duc commune continue to enhance the leadership and direction role of the Party committee and government, create high unity in awareness and advise on the good implementation of state management of ethnicity, belief and religion, and at the same time speed up the disbursement of the remaining investment capital.

Regarding some recommendations and proposals on infrastructure investment and economic development of My Duc commune, the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions will receive, synthesize, research and include them in a report to advise the City People's Committee to continue to pay attention and allocate capital for implementation in the period 2026-2030.
