Promoting Vietnamese cultural heritage in the Czech Republic

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) in coordination with the Embassy of Vietnam in the Czech Republic has just opened the exhibition "Vietnamese Cultural Heritage - Preservation and Development" in Prague, the Czech Republic, to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the friendship and good cooperation between Vietnam and the Czech Republic, as well as Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23).

On October 30, the Department of Cultural Heritage (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) announced that the exhibition "Vietnamese Cultural Heritage - Preservation and Development" in Prague, Czech Republic will open on October 29, 2025.

Attending the opening ceremony were: Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong; Mr. Duong Hoai Nam, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Czech Republic; Mr. Daniel Blazkovec, Deputy Minister of Defense of the Czech Republic; along with Ambassadors and Heads of representative agencies of countries in the Czech Republic such as the US, South Korea, Japan, Philippines, China...

With nearly 200 typical images and artifacts, the exhibition introduced an overview of Vietnam's cultural heritage and the process of protecting and promoting the value of cultural heritage in Vietnam. In addition to the introduction, the exhibition includes 4 main topics: Legal system and policies for protecting cultural heritage; Cultural heritages of Vietnam recognized and listed by UNESCO; Vietnamese cultural heritage - diverse and unique; Cultural heritage for sustainable development.

The exhibition vividly and visually introduces to the overseas Vietnamese community, the public and international friends images of Vietnam's typical cultural heritage and activities to protect and promote the value of cultural heritage that the Party, State and people of Vietnam have been striving to carry out over the years.

Through that, the exhibition also creates an opportunity for generations of Vietnamese people far from the Fatherland to understand and be more proud of a Vietnam rich in historical and cultural traditions - where, over centuries of building and defending the country, generations of Vietnamese people have created, preserved and promoted a treasure trove of extremely rich, diverse and unique cultural heritage. These are historical and cultural relics, scenic spots, festivals, traditional crafts, performing arts, folk knowledge, beliefs and customs... This is a unique heritage of Vietnam, and at the same time a precious part of the treasure trove of cultural heritage of humanity.

The exhibition introduced and promoted to international friends the unique values ​​of Vietnam's cultural heritage. The event had a great influence, creating positive effects, contributing to enhancing cultural exchange, international cooperation, promoting understanding, respect and further strengthening the relationship between the Vietnamese people and the Czech Republic; continuing to consolidate and develop the friendship and cooperation between the two countries on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Czech Republic.
